Thanks! My dreadlocks are just over 6 months old now. I managed to remove all of the wax and they're doing much better now! I keep an updated timeline on my blog: http://dreadlockjourney.com/category/timeline/

If you haven't already, I recommend washing with Dawn dish soap a few times to get the wax out. Also try to do a few rinses with lemon juice or Wax B-Gone.

Keep us updated on your progress!

Wash with luke warm water and do a freezing rinse at the end. You should pick something to wash with and stick with that. I suggest the BS/ACV rinses, but many use http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/ and I hear nothing but good things.

But, I always get dandruff. The BS eats it away though, so it is not a big deal.

A big part of dreading is embracing the chaos. Learn to love the mess and you will have some healthy locks to show. I'm always happy to help.

OK I hear you. It's just that I read on your page that you got your info from DHHQ over the space of two weeks. Dreads are often flat when they are babies. They round out as they shrink and mature. It's a natural progression. I won't push the matter any further. A final bit of advise. Remove the rubber bands, Wash 1-3 times per week (DHHQ shampoo should be avoided for health reasons) and separate when the sections grow together. That is it. When you remove the bands, some dreads may fall out. This will be because they are not sitting in a natural position on your scalp. For dreads to form, they need to get messy. It's a the central part of the process. Take my advise or don't. Either way, I'm wishing you the best.

Welcome. I guess I don't have to go into the problems with KB and DHHQ.

As for palm rolling, listen to Adam. Here is a video of what only 2 weeks of palm rolling will do to your locks down the line:

Again, palm rolling and finger rolling do nothing beneficial. They give the dreads a rounded shape when wax was used, but it can cause real damage when done too much. It pulls roots out and severely weakens the dreads. Please, forget everything you have learned from DHHQ. I'm still not clear if you used wax.. But if you did, you should get rid of it Immediately.

The onlymaintenancedreads need is regular washing (1-3 times a week) and separation when the sections get too big.
