Welcome. Hopefully Eagle's been able to explain the extreme damage that the methods locticians use do.
Wax in particular is pretty much the number 1 reason locks don't last people more than a few years. It glues your hair together and only creates the illusion of locks, without ever letting them mature into real locks.
Other methods are crocheting, interlocking, palm rolling, etc... Every one of these methods only destroys locks. No specific hair type works better or worse with any of these techniques. It is destructive for everyone's hair
welcome unfortunately locticians dso use all methods most of wich are very bad to use so do u use wax crochet interlocking felting read the dreaducation page all your doing is harming ppls dreads..severely
Welcome. While latch hooking isn't as bad a crocheting, it's extremely destructive. By continuously poking holes in your locks, you are actually weakening the integrity of the lock itself.
If you only did it once to start, good. Give your hair some time to heal.
welcome to the community Kencci,......peace

I will do good luck with your beginning few months and the adjusting and getting used to dreads
Welcome to the community Brynn. Hope you decide to let your dreads mature all naturally now, embracing the changes as they happen. Peace
