It's been a month & they don't even resemble dreads in the slightest..

I will be one month tomorrow and my hair just looks like bed head. I used TnR and they all fell out.. I wash with bs, acv, and sea salt AND sleep on wool. What am I doing wrong? I realize I'm being impatient but I'm seeing everyone else who has done TnR and they actually look like dreads after a month. I'm so discouraged when I see all those pictures..

Bird said it, girl, and she's totally right. I had the same thing happen with mine, I twisted and ripped, and then they all fell out. time and patience, my dear. I'm at a year now and my hair is loose around my face and my neck still. the best dreads I have are in the back on my head. granted, my hair is really thin, so trying to get it to dread hasn't helped me much at all. I just have to wait. I get envious of other peoples' amazing progress, but I have to remember that my hair is going to dread at the pace that it is going to dread, and often that is very different from what I see on the site. There are some people with amazing progress within the first couple of months, but that's not typical of straight white girl hair that's just been t&r. expect some real results in several months, but try not to mess with your hair much for a while. neglect is your best friend in this process. and don't rush it, dreads are about being patient, and not really giving a fuck what your hair looks like. Get through these first 6 months and you'll be fine.

You're gonna get really sick of people telling you this, and i am sorry, but it's only been a month.

I know how frusterating it is! I started with TnR 10 months ago and they all fell out after about a week. I have since let them do their thang, and it has been a journey that has seriously tried my patience.Even now, the sides of my head aren't all that dreaded, but the back is awesome! Hang in there, and as best you can, just try to go a couple days without fretting about them. After 4 months, I just kinda said "whatever... they're gonna take however much time they need".

I still have days of dread envy, but it's worth the wait! Think how awesome they will be two years from now! Hang in there.
