If you do it hard andaggressively, to the point that knots do form and your see progress, you are irrevocably destroying your roots, which will destroy your locks down the line. You wont see the damage for a while, but in a year, when your hair grows out, you will see how thin and weak your roots have become.

but the loose hair tool and the crochet hook is some of the most destructive things u can do to dreads
