welcome baba is right the crochet hooks a huuuge mistake it causes severe damage and prevents proper dreading for a very long time it takes 6 months on average to recover from1 use over a year if u used it alot
Welcome. although back combing is acceptable, it does cause some damage. But the crochet hook destroys your locks. It breaks hair into tiny pieces and overtightens them without them actually tangling and knotting. What you end up with is a lock that is to tight that it traps water and runs the risk of snapping off in places because it is too tight
i just read your comment on the dread for life group wall. very cool i feel the same way i so found god as well when i decided to dread like sampson and the nazarites lol. anyway i like your dreads and i kind of wish i could have gone completely neglect like you did but i was misinformed and backcombed, i thank god that i found this site when i did and i too now am going neglector close to it anyway and i like you dont plan on ever cutting or dying or brushing my hair ever again.
