Hi Zach. To speed the growth of your hair, since you are starting on the short side, you can use Biotin which can be purchased for under $10 from your local drug store, find it in the vitamin section. You take these for 3 months and it quickens up hair growth, (also strengthens finger nails). Dreads like to start on 6" hair, sometimes a little shorter, so this should help add some length sooner.
