Welcome. Adam and Eagle are right. Wax is promoted by so many because it creates the illusion of having locks instantly. In fact, it does nothing to promote locks maturing. It just stops them from maturing past the first time you added wax.

Dreadlocks need to be clean and free of wax, gels, and creams in order to form.

Check out the dreaducation page and the recovery forums. See what others have gone through with their wax experiences. Once the wax is gone, you will see how much faster your locks progress.

SE is spot on. But you can also get the ball moving by scrubbing the dreads with dish detergent and hot water. It will take many more washes than wax b gone, so I would start with that while your waiting for it to arrive or until you get some.

welcome but dread wax is a huuuge mistake a dread killer and a scam dread wax only glues hair together to resemble dreads while preventing the movement needed to actualy dread it traps dirt and water and causes them to mold and rot its the number 1 cause of dreads being cut

do wax removal immediately and keep doing it months after yoir sure its gone it never washes out its extremely hard to remove wax b gone does it pretty good though

Welcome. You won't regret it if you decide to grow locks. They are very freeing and help you overcome any fears you may have about how others view you.

Check out the dreaducation page first and then the timeline forums to see what you'd be going through in the first weeks and months
