welccome

although u can wash with normal body soap you shouldnt for 2 reasons

1 body soaps are full of moisturizers to prevent dry skin (caused by using soaps) this conditions and slows dreading

2 soap scum is residue when u bathe in a tub you see that ring of soap scum left around the waterline thats soap scum it builds up in your dreads and will cause dread rot just like wax does

Welcome to the communiuty. What soap do you wash with? I've never heard of people using normal body soap on their dreads. If this is the case, there are better washing substances that can be used. Type BS / ACV into the search function or have a look on this site. http://shop.dreadlockshampoo.com/

7 weeks? That's what's up! Yeah, please do, I'm really interested in seeing other folks progression, especially other peoples of African descent. Speaking of, I gotta update with some pictures soon, I'm in my third week now! Anyway, thanks for reaching out, I definitely look forward to staying connected, brother!

Also, seems we're having the same problem with the tops of our head. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how yours progress!

Hey, sorry I'm so late responding, looks like I've been neglecting more than my hair. Lol. Anyway, yeah, my hair used to stick to my head the same way, I use to just rinse my hair every morning but now, with it starting to lock up, I'm able to just shake it out in the morning.

Yeah, 100 percent, I'm pretty much doing the 'neglect' method. What about you?

Thanks, brother! How long was yours when you began your journey? You seem to be making some nice progress!Nah, I'm not mixed. I mean, my family has a number of ancestral roots, but we're Black.
