hello : ) I love these sleeves. I was wondering if you would like to trade one. I crochet anything really. and I also make dread beads. I know you like to knit and I'm not sure if you make beads or not, but i would love to trade with you.
i'm not giving up. i wore a tam to bed for months in the beginning and it didn't do anything productive for me plus it made my forehead itch. i wear it tucked up in a buff at night now. my hair is down to my lower back so not putting it up at night isn't an option at the moment. it gets trapped behind my back when i sleep and pulled and i lose a bunch of shed hairs. not good.
i'm trying to not think about my hair as much and just let it be. i did find two new sections that are knotting underneath and put a couple of beads on them so they don't disappear.
thanks so much for the offer to make me a sleeve. i'll get around to making one soon. i'll just do some solid color ones and they'll probably come together quickly. {{hugs}}
I think I realize that having short hair (to my surprise) and using sleeves/beads and actually throwing my hair when it is damp/wet into a tam has actually helped greatly and I'm only at 7 weeks... There are nights that I will sleep with my tam on, but usually I just leave it off at night, except when I go backpacking... for some reason my hair always seems to progress after sleeping in a tent for a few days lol... I've stopped focusing so much on what I am washing my hair with I guess, still do BS and sea salt and pour it over my hair, scrub at my scalp around my sections and then pour water over again to rinse. How long are you going in between washings? I was doing it every other day, then realized my hair was not as oily as before (amazing for my thin hair) then every 2 days and now starting to go every 3... I'm at the point where I don't even like having to wash it because I feel it takes away from my progress, but when I do I try to use a combo of scraping the scalp and using the palm rubbing to clean... you have beautiful hair, don't give up, I would even be willing to make a long sleeve for you too
yeah, i think if i had started my journey with shorter hair that i probably would've knotted up faster.
i'll try making a few longer sleeves and see if that helps with the stubborn hair underneath. my hair is feeling a bit more tangled lately under there so thats good. how many beads wide did you do to get the thin circumference on your long sleeves?
Heather, I was reading a discussion you posted about issues with different shampoos, pH, and how long you've been dreading naturally w/out much change... I would really suggest making a "long-sleeve" or more and keeping them in for a few days, even while you wash if need be, and since you have such pretty long hair, make sure to move them up and down on the cluster of hair.
One problem that I am noticing with my hair since it is layered is that I am knotting up pretty well on my short layers on the outermost area of my head, but everything underneath looks no different and just as smooth as day 1... this is frustrating for me, so I am in the process of making up a sleeve set to put specifically on my under layer.
i need to learn how to make these myself
ha! i made a fishy one, too! i gave it to a friend though. super cute:)
