I'd like to get it out there that I have nothing against people who eat meat. My fiance does, and I cook it for her. There's nothing wrong with that. I have found through my spiritual journey that all living things are interconnected. And to put…Continue

Angry food creates angry hearts. Meat free is the way to be!

the reasons why i chose to stop eating meat other than the fact its icky and weird.

We are a species evolved to eat meat. I just can't see what's wrong with it. We all have our reasons for not doing it though. Who am I to judge anyone for their preference.
Comment by Lauren Halsall on December 22, 2011 at 9:11am That's a beautiful and inspiration way of looking at it, i've seen similar practices when travelling, respect to you :)

I believe that all life forms are interconnected. There is some force that brings us all closer together spiritually. As a self proclaimed molecular spiritualist, I know that when I die, my remains will go to feed other life. The same with everything that dies. That is why I want to be buried with no coffin and not in a grave yard. That's another story. I hate graveyards. I have such disdain for the improper use of land.
I digress. I do not want to be part of a cycle that I am not physically a part in. Because of spiritual beliefs, I do not want to profit from the death of an animal that I had no personal contact with. If I were to hunt, I would be able to say a prayer, and thank it for giving it's life for my benefit. I would know that it was treated with respect and that I used every part of it that I could. I am very interested in the art of hunting, and would like to learn how to tan deer hide and use the leather. As for the skull, I would leave that where the animal died, and either leave it out in the open for other animals to have, or bury it for the little critters to have. anything I did not use would be buried, not thrown out, for the benefit of other life cycles. I would hope that I would be given the same respect when I die.
Comment by Lauren Halsall on December 20, 2011 at 9:48pm out of curiosity why don't you? i stopped becuase of the concept, now it is that but most it's for myself, my health and a test of willpower

I've never had that dream. maybe cause I don't feel bad about eating meat. I mean, I don't and haven't in almost 10 years, but I don't feel bad about the concept. I wouldn't mind eating it again, just under my conditions
Comment by Lauren Halsall on December 20, 2011 at 7:56pm haven't had the dream for a while recently.. maybe i was going through a weird stage i ordered some chicken stock gravy.. don't know why and i couldn't eat it.. but not had it since maybe there was some niggling thing at the back of my head.
on another note anybody got any yummy nut roast recipes ?? :)
Comment by Hans Criteanu on November 28, 2011 at 9:53am Lauren, I have had this dream in many different forms. Usually the common theme is that I made the choice to eat meat, then feel guilty about it.
