the spiritual/religious dread

wether rasta or buddhist hindu or other this is the place to share philosophical and spiritual reasonings together no confrontations

the spiritual dread journey

this is a place for all to discuss the spiritual or religious significance of theyre dreadlocks. without judgment

the religious aspects of dreading are often misunderstood . the average person associates dreads only with rastafarians, however most religions have dreads as part of theyre teachings wether they practice it actively or not.

here we can talk about all forms of religious or spiritual dreading
the subject can be deeply personal, and all religious people like to assume they are 100% right therefore all others wrong.

here lets strive to find our common ground instead of focusing on differences. be respectful of all other views

remember no matter how sure we are that we on the side of ritousness we are just humans we don't know it all and we can learn from eachother.

Yet another great group i am proud to be a part of.  My first experience with spirituality is a true belief that Jesus Christ died for our sins.  I have studied "Religion" in its purest form and Love is the common denominator.  My studies and travels have allowed me to accept influence from Hinduism, Buddism, and the newest Rastafari movement (its new to me)  It is truely sad what man has done to corrupt the spiritual journies humankind has naturally been drawn to.  If you read these texts...they all have Love as the common deminator.  Love one another.  Help when you can.  Give more than you recieve.  We may call the higher entities different names but Respect is the first word that comes to my mind.  You can look back at history and see a horrorendous past filed with violence in the name of God, but in fact it was all in the name of man and his greed of riches and power.  I look forward to reading each and every post on here.  I know that I will learn and grow from this group.  SE, in the short time I have been on this site I see the lives you are changing.  You were placed in all of our lives for a reason :)

haha! the ancient/traditional meaning of namaste means "i salute your form" for it was known that we are just forms of energy representing the universal consciousness and not the individual human bodies many of us believe we are.

hello everyone and namaste! ive always felt that there is an omniscient presence unseen on this plane binding us all as one. you can do no wrong. and though there are many paths, growing dreadlocks is a path that i think many who feel some deeper connection or meaning to all of this will end up taking, like many of us, and you all rock love thats what its all about

Well, Nova... All religions are man made.  What I stay away from are dogmatic religions.  Any religion that requires me to act a certain way under punishment of "hell", "torture", or absence of god, seems to me like they aren't designed for peace, but rather for the well being of keeping the religion going over the years

When all religions come together, there the answer will be revealed.

Of course its up to us when that time comes.

thank you hippiegal and rev nira! hopefully i will be able to learn from everyone and maybe inspire others. I am also very wary of man-made religions, i do not believe human life is more sacrad then all other life. in my opinion it seems to be "cult-ish". correct me if im wrong but that is just what i have observed from a few religions i have looked into.
