I am planning to do this with my girlfriend with a tropical simple survival model earthship. The simple survival model designs should definitely be looked at if your considering a totally self sustainable lifestyle. If you find the majority of the materials (recycled trash such as tires, bottles, cans, etc.) yourself and do the labor yourself by only asking for family and friend volunteers then they are not expensive to make. Earthship biotecture has been working on many awesome ways to make these into self sustainable community dwellings. There are many aspects of their designs and sustainability that should be considered even if you don't choose to build them. Just thought id throw it out there. When I'm fully recovered i would be glad to help with this project. At least with the initial building as i plan on doing this with a group of friends in another country.

I don't have a lot of money, but I'm willing, have time and able bodies. My younger son (19) is revved up and ready to go where ever is needed to build stuff, he has a bit of experience. I have some vacation time I was going to devote to going wherever to help build.

It is for me at least about developeing a sustainable living space, as i am a mother and i do need to have something that will last.

I came here becasue it seemed that other ppl were ready to do it as well in this community, i dont care where the ppl come from, dreadlockssite.com, or wherever, but seeing as many ppl here share or seemed to share many of the same ideals and ideas i thought it a good place to start. unfortunatly i would not be able to do like you di d(congrats by the way that is awesome of you) all by myself, as i have a two year old and would need some help building, or whatever. idk exactly where to start and im hoping in the next week or so i will have a more solid plan of sorts, at least some organizing would be great too.

Are you looking to stay solo? where is your land located? would you like any help, or to have more ppl come live with you? how has it been food wise? do you have a garden? do you hunt? are you drinking clean water? :) so proud of you for taking the big steps and doing it on your own when u couldnt find the support. props man.

 

yeah....is anyone else currently DOING this?! would they like any help/or even just a cpl visitors for awhile to get a big project done? i am willing to come help and provide as much as i can afford to given the right oppurtunity. Looking for change and positive vibes.

i am not in the area... unfortunatly i dont think i know anyone in that area, i can ask niko if he does. otherwise i am very interested in getting somethign started here! i also noticed that the action in the disscusions about community living space has been not very active, and i posted a disscussion about this/myself/hopes of progress towards a similar idea. Please anyone interested let me know. we (my son myself and my firend niko ) will be able to contribute money and body mind spirit to make this happen.

so theres been no updates in a long time so me and another member whos been missing for the past 2 years were talking last nigyt and we found 20 acres in oregon  southern oregin christmass vallety area  ..for 7 grand!  anyone in the southern oregon area willing to take a lil trip out to the land take some photos ad let us know what its like?
