I love every loop and bump and oddity. I love how fuzzy and soft my natural clean locks feel. I am excited to see them mature but I am grateful to get to experience the messy beginning as well. My hair is a reflection of myself. I am not neat, most days I don't know which way I want to go, I am loopy and a little uninhibited as well. But as my hair mellows out and decides it's way so will I.

I had a girl at school come up and ask if I was dreading my hair because no white girl would leave the house with her hair looking like that. I smiled and laughed and told her yes I was. I love the messiness! It has style and personality and it's just more ME than brushed hair. Messy hair has made me 10x more confident!

I was at a wine tasting the other day and the man pouring looked at me and said "I like your almost dreads" I laughed thanked him and told him they were babies.  He then told me that they were too fuzzy to be real and they won't look good long term. Damn boy!

I moved on with a smile but really, the fuzziness and messiness of immature dreads is gorgeous and constantly shifting! Embrace it beautiful people!

My family tell me I smell like a dead sheep! Not because they're moldy or anything but because my hair naturally smells a bit when it has been unwashed for a week! Plus all my roots clump together, it looks crazy!

yeah when i am at home its free messy it pokesout all over the joint and i dontmind my fiance doesnt mind...all happy! even when i go shopping i dontmind! but its when i go to work...they mind! i work in an agricultural shop so farmers... who smell of poo!! and think thats normal and ok... say why dont you brush your hair? or did you get out of bed on the wrong side...my boss looks at me dissaprovingly...the type that doesnt even need words! hee hee so i tie it up and try to fix it a bit but its sore on my baby dreads at the nape of my neck...grrr i wish i didnt work with people...animals are much more understanding! 5pm comes and out comes the crazy caveman hair!

Loopy, matted, frizzy, loose hairs in abundance.  Sound messy to you? LOL  Sounds PERFECT to me!!! Good thing, too, since that is exactly what I see when I look in the mirror these days, nearly 2 months into the journey...
