former dreadheadhq knottyboy customers who now warn against products use

knotty boy and dreadheadhq customers are all newbies

dreadheadhq and knotty boy claim to have thousands of satisfied customers and never get complaints.
but the reality is most customers are only customers for a few months or a year before realizing what a mistake it was to trust in them.
virtually all who survived the product use now recommend avoiding the products. but they have no shortage of know it all kids with week old candles to go on promoting them.

this groups the fastest growing group on the site because so many fell for the lies in the early weeks only to realize the truth and now want to spread that truth.

dreads are not a result of products or hours of work
they are the result of time and love
all products do is glue hair together and SLOW THE ACTUAL DREADING while building up ripping you off and eventually making you start over.

I used dreadheadhq products for the first almost three months of my dreadies life and then it was really brought to my attention by my friend with dreads that the wax and pepper and spray kind of grossed all on the inside of his dreads. He had to cut the ends and wash them for quite a few days to get the mold and dandruff build up, all the wax had got his hair icky. Now well since almost two and a half years ago i haven't used products and my dreads have always felt happy.

my story (copyed from my welcome thread!)

about 2 years ago i looked into getting myself some dreads and looked about to see what i could find ... and you guessed it i came accross jonny clean and his wonderous products .... so enlisted my hairdresser who has done all of my hair for the past 7 years and she followed his instructions to the letter... 4 hours later i had 60 very knotty dreads and loved them.

4 days later i had some real problems tho ... my scalp inbetween the dreads had puffed up and in placed was starting to blister, weep and in outher places bleed ! so popped in to see my hairdresser who said i was having a reaction so 6 bottles of conditioner and another 5 days and thay were gone ... managed to save my hair aswell as my scalp...

shortley after that i ended up with a 9.5 inch mowhawk !

soon .... well about 6 months or so i will start my twist and rip odessy ... mega looking forward to it !!

untill that time im just gonna lurk and stear outhers away from the evils of wax and send them here !

I used wax once. and that was enough for me know I just didnt like the stuff. and.. that was before I joined this site. Its wax, so first of all. it feels like wax, and i have noticed one dread in particular in which i used a little too much (shouldnt have used at all.. but anywho) and the roots of that dread because of the wax that i am still working on getting out is actually making the roots of that dread seperate into their own little sections.

After I used it that one time i felt the wax in my hair and idk. It was just gross to me honestly. So i threw it away..

yeah i think im just going to let mine grow out...and trim them..start all over, just cant yet..or else id be BALD. i dont know. need a plan. wax removal is REALLY hard to do.i too have some stiffies..and those stiffies will NOT lock..a year and a half later.. *tear* some of the roots are actually locking up..patience paid off. but i get reminded when i look at the dreads that have some white residue ..from wax and locking peppa. how sad they still sell those products. i wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing all these beautiful dreadies progress are being dampered.

all waxes are bad the locking gel is mostly aloe it washes out so its good ..for african hair that craves moisture for other hair well it will make em slimy slippery and fall out easily
no products are good for "making dreads" only for treating conditions like dryness

thanks for sending me an inventations but i didnt have a bad expierience. i mean i didnt use it like they prescribed and i could see hoe excessive use like that and melting it in would cause problems but i just used it to keep mine seperate since i backcombed and i only used it maybe once a week sparingly as needed and since i didnt melt it inside my dread i never had any problems with it cuz it washed out. i had thick curly hair. now on my sons hair it made it a little greasy so i didnt use it cuz his hair was super fine and his was mainly neglect methos with a little twisting and backcombing

the dreadhead products i used..gross. i cant kick myself hard enough. the locking peppa..the worst. it sucks when you wish you knew then what you know now...i just hope for the best now with my dreads. the only product ill use it aloe vera..MAYBE..as a last resort for taming. DONT DO IT!!!
