Self ear piercing

Started by la Renarde. Last reply by la Renarde Aug 10, 2013. 7 Replies

Ok, I'm really not into self-piercing, but I have a second hole on one of my earlobes that got infected some years ago. I had to let it heal completely and the hole has since closed up pretty much (I…Continue

Thank you Ixchel - yes now after googling more about tunnels and plugs i see the foot shape beneath the jewel piece and the holes for the flesh to heal in, god i would hate it to be torn! I think i would like a dermal smwhere where i can always see it like on my arm or back of wrist. I've had a look at the address you gave me and yes i will find it helpful as a guide once i have started, Thank you. Its unbelievable how you could just about have a piercing of some sort anywhere on the body, i've even see it for eyes!!

i used to have a better article on it i thought, or maybe i read it in the book "the piercing bible" but here is a little bit on taping & stretching stuff it would be less painful because it's so slow & gradual & you don't push your body at all. take your time, have patience (like dreads!) if you rush you will ruin your lobes. hit up every size & take as much time as you need between stretches. if you go too fast you may get lucky, but it could also go horribly wrong :(

most dermals have a foot shape to the part that goes into the skin & that piece has holes for tissue to grow into so that they are only able to be removed by being cut out (or accidentally torn/rejected).

Are dermals perminant or do the like graft out to the sureface?

Just this morning went to my local pharmacy and all they had was a 4g taper, think THATS a bit big to start!! I saw a young i think mexican school girl on youtube stretch her ears all the way from a 4g to a 0 in one go!! you could see blood on the tissue she was using - unbelievable!

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Baba Fats - yep what you say about the wood sticking to your flesh, this is what i felt with the damn tooth pick in my ear, so i had 2 keep twisting it until my ear swelled :(

Dear Ixchel - i really don't want to sound stupid but do want to know what you mean by saying (tape)? Being new to stretching i have not yet come across this method, sounds to me a lot less painful.

Wagosh, That sounds a great idea to get started, i have been looking at the stainless steel and titanium tapers just like you mentioned and yes they r so expensive!! I don't think i'll go as far as 00 or 0 maybe an 8g or even 6g but who knows when i get started i might feel different :)

And after you stretch, don't wear anything but a good, high quality metal in the hole for at least 2-4 months.  I wouldn't even recommend anything but metal for about 1 year.  I tried wearing wood after 3 weeks, and my ear began to heal to the wood
