I have my first holes stretched to 00, second holes stretche to 2g, then on my left ear I have two regular holes that I never put jewelry in also. Every now and then I'll put an earring thru just to check and sure 'nuff they're still open. It's the same way with my nose, I never put anything in it, but I put a screw in a couple times a year for a minute.

Ohhhh okay! That's good! Yah, I have 8 ear piercings, the 2 bottom ones gauged, but the 3 on each side above that, I never wear anything in them...Haven't in at least 3-4 years. Then, last week I decided to put some 16-18 gauge lip rings in them to see if they would go in and they totally did! They were tender for a couple days but it cleared fast. I ended up taking those all back out a couple days ago though because it kept snagging my dreads and making loose hairs come out. I didn't want them to start undoing my progress!

I'm sorry, I meant closed up. I've had the piercing for years and years and it healed up great. The hole still remains, I don't think it'll ever close up like some piercings do over time.

Mons, when I was 19 I got my septum professionally pierced. 6 months down the line there were no signs of it healing. It was also slightly crooked! So, I took it out. A couple years ago, (at 24 years old) I pierced it myself. I got it perfectly straight and it healed in 2 weeks...It might just be the position/location it was pierced for you on why it isn't healing.

Also, apply a little tea tree oil to it. My belly button piercing wouldn't heal when I was a teen and had purple discoloration and was still tender many months down the line...I used tea tree oil on it a few separate times and it was cleared up and feeling fine within 2 weeks.

How long have you had the piercing? If you've had it for a while you can just put it back in after your cold clears up. I think a septum piercing would be more uncomfortable with a cold than a nostril piercing.

I know different people heal up at different rates, but I only put jewelry in my nose a couple time as year. I'll probably have this piercing my entire life, it's never healed up. It may just be me too. I can go literally years between putting earrings in my 'normal' ear piercings.

my currents problem is post nasal drip and irritated nose peircing that I took out w/o an alternative or cash for one.... wondering if septum peircing would be ok?

Hi, I have 4g ears and my tongue pierced. Plan on snake bites, redoing my nips, and my belly button after I lose this weight :)

The site I tend to order from is http://www.bodycandy.com

I find their prices much more reasonable than going to the mall for body jewelry for good quality stuff. I've ordered from them 3 times so far and each time my order has gotten here really fast. Most recently it took 2 days to get the nose rings I ordered.

You might also find http://www.urbanbodyjewelry.com useful. Tons of styles, sizes, colors, materials to pick from.
