Raw food diets for our little buddies. Post recipes for any animal and opinions on rather its better or worse than dry food.

I've been feeding my ferret a raw diet for about a month now. He was fed store bought dry food until i got him a month and a half ago. At first he wouldn't hardly even smell the meat but now he loves it. beef or chicken is his favorite. If you want to feed your ferret raw remember this, they are carnivores like cats. The only non meat they get is from ingesting the organs of a herbivore. So you don't need to feed them anything but meat and some liver or something like that. I think eggs also are OK.

I just was informed that you should always cook the meat a little. 30% of wild ferrets die because of bacteria. I dont know how true this is but I think its best to play it safe. So now my animals will just be on a clean diet not raw.
