A Work In Progress

This is for newbies or seasoned dread lovers who are not ashamed to show off their progress in their locking phase. Whether you are new to locking or you have been growing them for months or even years...be proud and show it off! We also welcome locks that may have been damaged due to improper care or twisting. Help is just around the corner...I'm speaking from experience. I was twisting for 12 long years and wasn't aware of the damage that I was causing. Check out my photos for yourself and let it be a lesson learned!!!

I've been naturally dreading for 10 months now. I never used wax. The day I stopped brushing my hair I was told that I couldn't dread my hair without a kit. I called bullshit. That motivated me to loc my hair up with as little effort as possible. The progress I've seen is more than I ever could have dreamed of! My naturally curly, frizzy hair wanted to dread up. I had been straightening and blow drying for over 10 years. My hair has never felt healthier! I started by using the shampoo bars from the Dreadlocks Site shop, but switched to Dr. Bronner's put of convenience. I do a bs/acv rise once every couple weeks and separate. That's it :-) I have so much more time to enjoy life, rather than fuss with my hair. Perfection comes from one's own view of perfection. Perfection is not something that can ever be attained. The gift of perfection is learning to see the beauty in the experiences that build up to almost perfection. And with that, we can see the beauty in everything. No matter what your locs look like or how long you've had them, they are beautiful!

I peeked at the photos... Do you mean that no more hair has grown in on the patches that were thin?  And did you stop twisting and rolling?  You might try a silk pillow case to reduce friction and damage to the hair.

I'm starting to get frustrated and thinking about cutting my hair completely  off. The progress of my hair is still the same. I've tried essential oils to  biotin pills and nothing seems to work. I did see some improvements, but not the  improvements that was expected. It's been a year or so sonce I created this page  and video, so any new or seasonal members please offer any advice??? Thanks!

I don't truly understand why I have started this journey. I am the most impatient person I know. I also just started doing bonsai. Go figure.

I have only had my dreads for about 5 weeks and I am loving them! I love the whole process and learning new things. I want to eventually felt a couple of them and I've already met a lady who wants to teach me! YAY :) My hair is pretty straight and silky so its takin a bit to get them started but now they are spin their thong and comin about really well <3

Hey all! Hope you are having a blessed day. I am just shy of 3 months and just posted some pics yesterday. They seem to be changing every day now and I love them so much. Only wish I had done them sooner in life, however I have been going through some trying times in my life currently and am thankful my hair is dreading through it.
