That's all I do. Except putting those strands back in. lol.

Yeah, just take an edge of it and scrub your scalp, ignore your hair itself. Get your scalp nice and soapy, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse it out

I bet. 1/3 cup in 1 gallon wont even remotely get the cleaning you want. BS is supposed to exfoliate your skin. With that little I'm surprised you didn't end up with dead skin flakes stuck in your hair where the BS didn't clean it out all the way

Oh, I forgot to mention, when you start to use the ACV, only leave it in for a fw seconds. Don't let it sit there long.

The sea salt can be sprayed on or soaked in for a few minutes, but not left in for more than 2 hours. With the BS wash, it's a deep cleaning wash, but ca be used eveyr wash. I did it 2-3 times a week for a few months with no problems. You mix 1/2 cup BS in 5 cups of water, pour it on and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse it off well. You can add sea salt to this wash if you want. If your hair and skin is naturally oily, skip the ACV rinse completely for a while. Oily skin means your skin is already too acidic. ACV will only aggravate the condition. The BS will start to slowly raise your natural pH and keep your from getting oily. After a while you should stop being oily altogether. Then, you can VERY slowly add the ACV into your routine. Just a capful of ACV in 1 gallon of water once a week. If, after a few weeks, you still stay dry, do it twice a week, then for all of your washes. Once they start to mature, you can start to use more ad more ACV. Mature locks can handle the same ratio of ACV to water as BS to water.

Definitely TnR. Both are ok, but back combing is aggressive and does considerable damage to your hair. Some people swear by it. That's ok. But if given the option, TnR is much more gentle on your hair.

I know you don't want nappy roots. But they will always be a bit nappy. That's just how it goes. Cleaning them up with crocheting, root rubbing, or interlocking will only damage them. Since locks don't grow out of you scalp like 1 thick strand of hair, there will always be some messiness at your roots as new hairs grow in straight before they get tangled up.

You can have the luxury of spending time with them without doing maintenance. You can decorate them with beads, hemp, or embroidery thread.

I haven't been able to edit my profile in a while. It isn't working on my server. There is a link button on your profile page that says "edit profile". A drop bar will come down from the top of your screen with all sorts of options on how to change font, background, colours, everything.

To upload pics, go to the drop down menus. Click "My pics". When that page loads, there is a button on the top right of the screen that says "add". Then you can upload whatever you want. I think there is a max of 100MB per pic

That would work. It does reset any progress you made already to back comb once they start to section, but many people do let them section themselves naturally first and then TnR or back comb.

As for the nylon, it's too tight. Some people like to wear tams to bed. Tams are loose fitting and allow your hair to move around freely and get tangled. Nylons are too tight, and prevent them from moving around and tangling. The problem with wearing tams to bed, not only that they fall off, is that they tend to create a general knotyness. You'll end up having to separate more often. It's not a bad thing. Bu just letting you know.

With the sea salt, you definitely should do it before you wash. It dries out your scalp and hair. If you do it afterwards, it'll just keep drying out your scalp and hair until the next time you wash. That'll make your hair extremely brittle

Welcome. But once you TnR the first time, doing it over and over again will slow your progress. Every time you redo it, or tighten it, it resets your progress back to day 1

Welcome. Eagle's right. Wax actually stops locking from happening. It sticks your hair together but keeps it suck in place where no knots form. Because no looping happens, they don't progress past the first day the wax was put in. It hardens and gives the impression that they are maturing, but there is no way to speed up the process
