A social network for people who love dreadlocks. The best site for learning the right ways to grow natural dreads and keep them healthy

Kelsey Cliche! replied to Rook Bee's discussion Septum Piercing...Ladies - why?

I introduced myself before but for those that do not know, my name is Heather.
I have had my dreads for "three weeks". I began with a backcombing, twist/rip, and crochet method. The dreads looked great at first, but then there were knots and thing spots, the sizes were too small or too big, I was having to cut certain spots of my hair from knots... etc.
So a few days ago, I took out all but three of my dreads (I kept three I made that day because they looked and felt correct). I kept my hair really poofy and thick and after they were all out I did the baking soda wash I found on this website.
As soon as I did the baking soda wash, I towel dried my hair, and blew dry to make sure it was completely dry. OH MY GOD.
My head looks and FEELS so much better, it has already started a fast natural dread that looks a lot better.
I am very glad I joined this website as soon as I did. This has really enhanced my dreadlock journey. I am now a VERY strong advocate to the all natural method and I just started two days ago.
Attached are before, during, and after wash pictures so you can compare the difference!
