dreadlock methods and maintenance forums site products free dreads
Hey everyone! im enjoying the month and a half that ive had them so far, they are getting tighter and tighter all the time! The only problem is that i have alot of strands of hairs that arent in any dreads, there seems to be more and more every few days, and id rather they go away then keep showing up. I dont crochet them or anything. I wash them, and palm roll maybe once a week. dip in sea salt water every 3 days, thats it.
Im guessing they will all be pulled into dreads over time, but at this rate, ill have more loose strands then dreads. From a distance they dont even look like dreads unless you take a good look, thats how bad its getting. Im only worried because this doesnt look like they are progressing positivly at all. My question is, how can i get rid of these fairly quickly, and how do i stop loose strands from falling out???
ALSO, i have a flattened dread in the back of my head. its completly flat, but its pretty tight and i cant roll it or anything, it stays like that, how do i fix that too???
Thanks everyone.
noting really to fix just wear a wool tam if it bugs ya
flat dreads round on theyre own palm rollings a total waste of time
i wouldnt bother ..just wear a tam and give it time theyre doin fine
they look just like they should look that early

SE: I think you're overrating how much damage felting does. Of course it will be damaging if you do it a lot, or very aggrisively, but if youre carefull the hair folds instead of beaing shreded. Felting sculptures are made by the same method, and they don't seem to fall apart, do they?
By the way, the needles don't have giant barbs as the picture you posted. They arent even visible to the naked eye :P
