Hi everyone! Today I decided to count how many dreads I have and I counted about 40, including about 5 or 6 sections of stubborn loose hair that I put beads on yesterday to get them started tangling. Is this too few? I know a lot of people here have about 60+ dreads. I'm afraid that maybe most of my sections will be humongous and very hard to wash and dry once they're mature. At this point they're still very loopy and zigzaggy. What do you guys think?
PS - I'm really sorry if someone has already answered this question before, I haven't been on here that much these last few months so I can't remember where to find the answer. :(

anywhere between 28-35 is about average. So 40 is just fine. They don't become really hard to wash and dry until you're under 20.

I have 15. don't be worried. I started a thread in the maintenance forum for how to wash and dry fat locks if you have any trouble
