You should do what makes your mom and grandma happy, and forget about what you want... See how silly that sounds, 
When you are shinning with happiness, your mom and grandma can not help but be happy, so do what makes you happy, really happy, follow your heart and it will open up for all to see, let the love flow, and what you do on the outside of your body will become insignificant to others.

I hear alot of folks on here referring to their dreads as "thisset or thatset". I think there is a lack of connection seeing them as a set. Just my opinion.

hey Jayke, this is what I am using now. works great, cost $6-$7, for me to use the shipping from Vicki to maximum, hers cost me $70, although Vicki's bars are bigger and better value, and better product, the shipping kills it, $7 I can afford at the moment.

Help! Save My Dreads
Don't go to someone they will charge a fortune and probably interlock or something even worse. Do it yourself , that is what people have been doing for centuries, its a do it yourself job for sure.

Loose hair is normal, lumps and bumps are normal, that is what dreads look like without the damaging maintenance. What shampoo do you use, what oils etc? Maybe its something your are putting on, or not putting on your scalp that is creating the unbalance on your scalp, red bumps is probably not tension.

I think a strong spiritual connection is necessary because when we grow dreads for long periods of time, or we are growing big fat dreads there will be some discomfort and we will need the strength that comes from a spiritual connection. There is no strength in a 'hairstyle', there must be more, it must go deeper to pass through the trials that will come, that goes with anything in life really, in my opinion, a spiritual life is a full life, and dreads are just part of that.
