Lock splitting in 2

That's what I was hoping would happen! I didn't want to have to remove it, it's only been a lttle over 3 months but I've had so much progress and I don't want to loose that :)

Lock splitting in 2

General Questions

I have this dread that should have been 2 dreads, but stupid me thought they were too skinny when i first made them and let them congo. Now they don't want to be partners and the dread is pretty thick. It's dividing at the root and I attempted pulling it apart, but it's already so knotted together. I didn't really want to comb it out and loose my progress but I'm afraid that it will get even thicker. What should I do?

Life in Color (super awesome giant paint party)

General Questions

So I'm going to Life in Color and it's a big ass paint party which means I'll be covered head to toe in paint. Idk what this will mean for my dreads. Should I cover them up with a hat or just make sure to wash them really well afterwards? From some pictures I've seen people's hair is drenched in paint. I've never been though.

Have any of you been while having dreadlocks? What did you do?

Also, I'm super pumped about going!! It's going to be so freaking awesome.

The Demon Drink

General Questions

Maybe you could try getting a good friend to hold you accountable. Make your limit 1-2 drinks and make sure they know that. If you try and drink anything more than that have them take it away, no matter what. But it mostly is up to you to have enough self control to stop drinking so much. You can do it if you try, don't blame it on impulses or the way you were raised because that's only an excuse. A human being is capable of SO much, including self control. You just need to take some time for yourself and really think about what you want, whether that's to stop drinking all together or to just slow down. If you don't think you're an alcoholic than it should be simple for you to control yourself.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but it really truely comes down to self control and I believe you have that. Don't let the "fun times" get the best of you. Have you ever been around a group of hammered people while sober? It will quickly change your mind. Try being the DD for a night. It's not so fun babysitting, and you'll see how silly you really act while drunk.

Dreadlock Virgin.

Dreading Methods

This is how I did my TnR. I didn't do it tight at all, mostly just to make the sections. They ended up falling out almost all the way.It did put a jump start on my journey though :)

Tying dreads back

General Questions

i work in the culinary industry also and have to keep my hair up while at work. while it does make me have to separate more often, it hasn't hindered my dreading process at all. at long as your hair is down longer than it's tied up you should be okay :)
