how are my dreads coming along?

Introduce Yourself

hey so i stopped brushing my hair about 2 months ago. i had my hair bleached cause i love blonde dreads, and found that my hair is locking up super quick cause of the bleach. but someone told me that my hair isnt going to dread up its just going to be matted down. now im nervous and want to comb all the babies out because i dont want to have just matted down hair, i want them to be the actual locks/ropes. here are some pictures of a few of my babies:

so what do you all think? am i on the right path? id love to have dreads but these people really irked me about just having matted hair. also the hair on the back of my head has one huuuuuge thick matted area on it. i guess from where i sleep on it lol

rethinking my dreads

Dread Maintenance

yea i get that bleaching isn't too good for hair, but i doubt it will make my hair fall out or anything. i just love the way blonde dreads look for some reason. and my hair has to be pulled in a pony tail, but i keep it loose

rethinking my dreads

Dread Maintenance

hi all,im rethinking my dreads at the moment. i havent brushed my hair in about 3 and half months now so they are still babies. the thing is i have to wear my hair up at work and i heard that it slows down the process and messes them up making the knots slide down and turn into congos. and right now my hair IS really knotting towards halfway down to the bottom. i also wanted to dye my hair a natural blonde color. my tips and underside of my hair are naturally turning blonde for some reason (my sister said its going ombre) so i figured id dye it natural blonde. my hair is a dark brown though so id need to bleach it....AND also comb it :( so i want all of you guy's input on what i should do. im really contemplating on just starting over. cause the only part of my hair thats really starting to knot up good is the back corners of my hair (i think from where i sleep) and i really love the way blonde dreads look. whats your input?

hi everybody

Introduce Yourself

hey! my name is Anthony and I just started naturally dreading my hair about 2 months ago. The only problem i was causing was the fact that i was using head and shoulders shampoo in my hair which i heard was not the best shampoo to use when trying to dread. But anyways my inspiration to dread my hair was the late great Layne Staley from Alice In Chains. He had an awesome set of natural dreads and he was the one who inspired to me to throw my brush out haha. Take a look at my photos and tell me what you think of my hair so far :)
