I just recently landed two jobs. One is full time and the other is part time. I will need to keep my hair up a lot! Is there any way that I can keep them all in one bun? Maybe some extensions? My dreads are short. 2-5 inches in length all over my head. I find that using head bands aren't enough sometimes. Some suggestions? Look at my pics for an idea of how short they are!
Pick a day of the week where you can shower in the morning, where you won't have to tie your hair back right away. There isn't really any better alternatives to drying besides what was already suggested. I have short locks also. I began getting (mild) mold in my hair because I would rinse my hair every night after the gym and sleep in it. I just suggest washing once a week, so I use a shower cap now. I do wash my fringe more because it gets greasy from my forehead.
If you ask me, salons, crochets, wax all seem to defeat the purpose. I get comments on my hair ALL the time. Maybe it's your turn to have them understand why and how your doing this with your hair. I'm sure that all they need is a different perspective. Maybe look up some reasons why others have dreads and it would awaken your reasons for them, and also help you explain it to others. I use rosemary and mint infused shampoo. Both prevent itch and smells so pretty =)
They look awesome! The less maintenance the better is what works for me!
I like to add wraps to my flat ones. I do enjoy the loops so I would use the criss cross way of wrapping. I keep my maintenance minimal hoping for some fatties. So far I have three fat congos that joined at the root, then I braided the rest of it together. Now they are fat tight congos =)
i have shorties too! I sport pigtails, and half ponies. I like to do the double pony, which is a half pony tied into a low pony to the bottom half of my hair. sometimes I twist/braid my bangs and hold them with pins. I'll also pin my bangs back. I keep my hair discreet in a hat when I am coming into, and out of work, or while im in class.
I landed two jobs with dreads. I just tied them back with a small bun. I used a black headband to keep the front ones down and some bobby pins for the rest that like to poke out. I also used some aloe gel (pure) to keep the frizzies tamed. Good luck on that job!
I am posting on here to get an answer to a very serious question. Is there any way to rid mild dread rot in young, but tight dreads? I've had mine for about 4 months. I realize now what bad habits were the cause of this disaster. I am an active person, who has to shower everyday. I sometimes come home late, and go to bed with a wet head. I wash twice weekly with res free shampoo. That is the ONLY product I put in my hair. Iusually do rinse my hair every day I don't shampoo.I've cut out a couple of dreads that were getting pretty bad.
