I imagine what my hair would look like if I got to start my journey that young. I'm 30 now. I'm actually jealous. she got so much good advice she shouldn't have any problem getting through her messy stage. some real good people on this site

General Talk

I thought she said ant fair. haha but thats so cool that your man is excited.for.you. me and my girl are in the middle of civilly breaking up and she had just recently said.she respects my dedication and wants to see.them when they are mature. even though im having a ahard.time it made me feel a little better about my journey. speaking of the.journey, my sd card was corrupt lost 400 photos half.of.those were my timeline photos. unbelievable.... I almost.feel robbed of the experience but ill just start one.from the eight month mark.... anyway, bottom line is support feels great and is a great way to brighten up ones day

I'm starting to struggle with my journey :(

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

I also spend forty hours a week with my hair pulled back. I have to separate everyday lightly, and I wash every other day. it seems to me the more I wash the more progress I see. my hair gets so tangled with a good scrubbing and no conditioner.I use Bronner peppermint diluted. you can also try the sea spray from Vicki. it's progress in a bottle.

this is redundant but I wouldn't tnr at all. it's just a sloppy braid that falls out in a few months. only then does your hair start dreading. I'm at almost nine months neglect and I have dreads in all different stages with great loops and I wouldn't have it any other way. as far as washing I like Dr Bronner very diluted. I put two short squirts in a huge bug gulp cup and fill it up with water. pour it over slowly then scrub scrub scrub. then rinse real well. I wash every other day. I notice more progress after every wash. well have fun dreading how ever you do it. I just remembered one thing.I did have some sections that showed no progress and I tnrd about a half inch at the bottom and the tangle seemed to travel and spread up the hair. so tnr isn't terrible but over done it will set back your progress.

Sea salt

Dread Maintenance

I didn't check the picture but if you let it dissolve all the way in you can put it in a spray bottle and its easy to keep off your scalp. if your making it yourself follow the directions to avoid making it too strong.I purchased the Himalayan pink sea salt spray from Vicki and it was awesome. I never rinsed it out and never had a problem with irritation.i definitely over used it too.I just tried making my own with Himalayan pink sea salt from vitamin shop but its just not the same. plus I jammed up the sprayer. it seems to work good but I might just have to splurge on another bottle. it was worth it.

Will my hair dread?

General Talk

my hair doesn't resemble yours at all but in my opinion the pink sea salt spray from Vicki will accelerate progress in anyone's hair. I also think your a good candidate for tnr. maybe just a couple of inches of tnr at the bottom of the hair to make it tangle from the bottom up. that helped some of my sections catch up to some other sections

A day of PAIN and SORROW

General Talk

I have come to learn that empathy is almost a curse. when I hear about things like that I almost feel like I go through it myself. I let stuff like that change my mood or ruin my day. don't spend your whole day wondering Whats wrong with the world. if you really can't do anything to change it, keep it moving, and worry about what's on your plate. and believe what goes around comes around. good things happen to good people and karma is a bitch in a red dress....

dreadlock accelerator

Dread Maintenance

I've purchased the pink sea salt spray from the site. don't purchase that if you don't like separating lol. just kidding, your hairs gonna dread crazy fast..I used it everyday never rinsed out out, never had a problem with itchy or anything. after a couple weeks my hair started tangling like crazy. it was kind of rat nesty but I ripped what I had to and threw in some wooden beads I made. I ran out but about a month and a half later I'm noticing some great progress back there. now im not rich and it was a little pricey. I'm going to be going to the store and buy the ingredient list see how much I can make and see what it would cost me. but either way it truly is a dread accelerator.
