That is understandable Heather... that is why I am saying that people should not do this if they do not have the intention to send items off as well... it's just not fair. If it does take place however, those members will be brought to light and will be not be accepted to participate if this is done in the future.

Hello everyone!
This idea was attempted before by Ixchel in the Trade Group and I thought it was a wonderful way for members to share, surprise and pass on positive vibes to other members. We are doing this before the actual "Winter Solstice" so that members receiving winter seasoned items like hats/scarves will have time to use and enjoy them. The main concept is like a secret santa where everyone gets someone else's address and sends fun thoughtful goods along to them. The fun and secret is in not knowing who you will be receiving your items from. By signing up and participating you are agreeing to not only receive items form someone else, but to also send items along to another member.
What does this mean? Well, if you would like to participate, leave a note in this discussion.
Sign up will be open until Friday, September 7th . After that a survey will be sent out to everyone (on Dreadlockssite, here) to find out basic things like Gender, Sizes, Favorite colors, Allergies, etc. to get some specifics on each participant and what they may want or could use. Your address will also be required in the survey because your "Secret Sender" will be chosen at random and your info will be forwarded along to that person.
All surveys will be sent out by Friday, September 14th . I think that giving 1 week to complete and return the surveys should be a good turn around time.
Surveys must be sent back by Friday, September 21st . Based on survey responses, everyone will be assigned a "Secret Sender". For the sake of fairness, all packages will have a worth of less than $20 and contain no more than 3 items.
Secret Senders will be assigned by Monday, September 24th . Once all members have assigned, we'll give everyone 2 weeks to get their packages ready, since some items will be handmade this should provide those folks plenty of time to prepare their goods.
Packages will be sent out by Monday, October 8th . Once you have send your item, please post here that you have done so. Some of our members are on the other side of the world, so not everyone can include tracking information, but for international shipping you will need to ask the post office for a customs slip to include the monetary worth of the item.
In a sense, the mailing or the items is a bit in the faith of the "honor system". Please, if you do not have the intention of sending and sharing goods, then please do not sign up, it would not be fair to another member.
* Please note , your address will only be seen by me and the person who will be sending items to you and will not be shared with other individuals. Also, if you have allergies (like wool, etc.) please list these in your survey so your sender knows not to send them along to you.*
**If for some unexpected reason you are delayed in sending your package or are unable to, please PLEASE send me a message and let me know as soon as possible, so that no member is left out and so that other arrangements can be made.**
SO LET THE SECRET SWAPPING BEGIN!!
