I will be combing out my dreads

In a sense that is how I felt when I combed my first set out after about 8 months. I desperately wanted to see what my straight hair looked like again as well as wanting to feel pretty and attractive with "normal" hair again. The biggest part was because I wanted more control on size and placement... which I did accomplish on my second TnR set.

After I combed them, I instantly realized why I loved my dreads so much. I actually felt more insecure once I combed them out... no volume, hair was flat against my head and my small fly aways were back in my eyes. With my flat hair it made my face look rounder. Needless to say I was so sad and missed my dreadies so very much and it was never a question of "if" I would dread again, but when

But I feel you about needing a change, I'm a Pisces and we change all the time! The only thing that matters is that you are doing it for YOU! Good luck, by the look of your dreads you will have a lot of loose hair coming out, mine were only about 10 inches long and I probably could have made a hat from all the excess hair in them lol.

I just want to say that from the posts that I've seen in this forum from those who have sent out and who have received their packages, I am tickled at how well this has gone! I am so glad that all of you have come together and "passed on" positive vibes to one another

That's what it's all about... passing on positivity to someone else, whether you know them or not... even if they are a stranger to you, your actions can be more powerful to them than you know

Thanks to each participant for making all of this possible, without you guys, this would not have worked out. And because of each of you, it has been a success!

Britany, Since your account is no longer "active" or you've opened another, I need to know if you still plan on sending a package out or if you have already so that the person I assigned to you isn't left hanging... but it would seem that may end up being the case.

Britany, I believe you are reading my message out of context... no rudeness has been included.

No one else has brought to my attention the need or request for more time... quite the contrary, I've gotten many thank you's from participants for setting them up with their person and for organizing this event.

It is just discouraging for me, to dedicate and offer my free time to organize an event for the community over a month ago with all of the details and dates established, and then need to change dates around. Not all participants check this forum, so some are not going to be aware of this date change and others are still honoring the original date.

Just do what works for you Britany.

Hmmm Britany... I know you sent me your survey... why are you telling me that? Did you not receive your Secret Sendee info? Also, I suppose as a knitter of hats myself, I thought 2 weeks was a sufficient amount of time... the end of December is too long.... but we can extend the date to send packages out.

PACKAGES MUST BE SENT OUT BY OCTOBER 31ST. THAT IS 1 WHOLE MONTH FOR EVERYONE TO GET THINGS READY... I BELIEVE MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME.

All dates were posted when this thread was made, nothing changed, that is why I only wanted folks to join if they knew the parameters of the swap. The end of december is not reasonable and I will no longer be here to keep track of who has sent what.

If anyone has issues with October 31st deadline, let me know, but as a shop owner, deadlines are set in place for a reason... if they weren't customers would never get their items now would they?

Thanks for your comment Britany... if you can't commit to the new deadline, please let me know asap so I can assign your Sendee to a new Sender.

***REMEMBER: Everyone is allowed a MAX of 2 weeks to prepare their items, less time of course if fine too. All packages must be sent off by October 8th and please post here that you have done so.***
