what has been the best part of your journey?

The best part for me is how I feel, like a completely new and happy person, finally doing and saying the things I've always wanted to do and say. I feel more myself than I have ever been in my entire life.
My nanna is an old Greek woman who, whilst loving my brother and I unconditionally, has never been keen on our tattoos and my piercings. I didn't know how she'd react to my having dreads and for a long time she was one of the main reasons I didn't start them. The most beautiful part of my journey so far, was when I was leaving her house the other day after a visit and she grabbed hold of my messy, unkempt, matted up, decorated locks, kissed my head and said "I love your hair and I love you"

Apple Cider Vinegar wash

You rinse out the BS really well first and then chuck the ACV rinse in. You only leave it about 30 seconds for babies, longer as they mature. You might find you don't really need it after every wash though, only if your hair gets dried out by the BS. I haven't used my ACV yet at all! Hope this helps :D

Your story is so like mine! I was always dying, cutting, straightening, curling, sticking stuff in it, something different every month, sometimes every week! I did always want dreads though :D
I've only had mine about a week or so, but I couldn't love them more! I never predicted the complete, immeasurable, unparalleled joy of getting up and getting straight into my day without having to do my hair! :P It's amazing. They have their own personalities and I can't wait to get into the "months" as opposed to "weeks" where they really get wild and loopy. I put up some photos of my fuzzy head last night.
This site is so great that people starting out like us have such a great, varied and knowledgable support group to let us know, whatever they're doing, it's the right thing :D
