3month dread update.

Dread Maintenance

Hello mike, your hair is in the process of locking, the loops and zig zags is when your hair is starting to lock up in one spot more than the other. This is totally normal, and as they progress you will notice a slight shrinkage in time,as for your "skinny" ddreads they will get thicker, but it depends on your size of sectioning on your scalp, the amount of hair you have on your scalp connected to your dreads. This will give you an idea how thick they will be later on.also you will have dreads that will try to congo,if u like them to be thicker you can let them grow together. But remember they can get very large and taking care to dry them properly can be a task.my advice is wash , no comb and gently seperate to prevent Congo's and a lot of patience.they will dread.use non residue shampoo, keep your hair clean, good luck on your journey brother :-)

Having problems with lint in your dreads? Do you have dark color hair and dont like the way the lint shows up on them?

Help! Save My Dreads

We all have found some lint in our dreads, and sometimes it can start to build up and go unnoticed for a while. Then you start seeing white stuff sticking out of your dreads, and you start investigating further. Maybe even tearing open your precious locks you've spent months or even years developing just to get at the lint. Don't fret, this is normal and will not damage your dreads, and as long as it is not mold or a build up of wax and such, you should not worry. People like myself with very dark hair do not like the white stuff in our dreads. So i have found a natural way to hide them instead of ruining your dreads picking them apart. Ready? a very strong brew of black tea,or even coffee. Take a tea bag and steep in just enough boiling water to make a very strong brew,i'm talking the least amount of water you can use and let chill in the fridge. After washing your hair , pour the solution On your hair as a rinse u may have to do this a few times,to get the color but it will dye your lint and will blend in with your hair color. And if you have red hair you can use cherry bark tea or tea with red Fruits, you can also use nutmeg and rhubarb root. This is an all natural way to hide your lint buildup in your dreads and add nice highlights as well--peace-- :-)
