white people with dreadlocks
History and Religious Significance
I've been thinking about locking my hair for a long time... and then I stumble upon many post, blogs, etc. about white people with locks are considered racists, oppressors and so on. Now I've been going back and forth, since I was supposed to do it very soon... But Now I'm not so sure... I'd go around with what I would have called peaceful hair, and other people would percieve it as racist. The reasoning behind me wanting to have locks are that I want to be more natural, in life generally.... food, lifestyle, mind and soul... and now this is something viewed upon racist? breaks my heart, but that's just my white irrelevant feelings. I don't want POC to find me offensive... thoughts?
