Why is it so difficult?

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

Baby Britt; you give some pretty solid advice =] I really appreciate it.

it seems that most everyone, secretly or openly, is waiting for that someone...patiently, or non patiently. But, over this past couple days, I've come to find something... Everyone is waiting.. right? well, if we all wait...who's left to do the chasing? If everyone wants to be found, who's left to look?

I guess I'm just not that quick on the draw with a comment back haha..

and she doesn't have to have dreads. I'm not THAT picky lol but that'd be a nice way to connect with someone in a relationship. Ya know? Both having dreads, somethin in common I guess..

I love how quickly people respond on this site. And how quickly people become willing to lend a hand and support one another. I guess I do just need to be happy on my own, and wait for Her to show up. But I also am worried about waiting, then missing my opportunity because I'm not willing to chase after..? Idk... I'm only 17, I don't have EVERYTHING quite figured out yet haha oh, and Lauren; you can never be too optimistic =]

S.E.; you should hit me up with some info on that dating portion of the site? I'll check it out myself at some point. But, given my minor age, idk how suitable I'd be to join it haha

To find a nice girl with dreadlocks?. I know I should keep an open mind about dating, and just kinda wait.. right? But, ever since I got dreadlocks, I just dream of finding a girl with locks to share tips with and just be dread buddies? lol but it's harder than I thought. Nobody my age really wants dreads. And most girls in high school are just dramatic teenagers lol idk, I don't have much to say on the subject. I just thought I'd post something about it on here and see what advice or responses I could get haha

Dread Maintenance

Sooo...I see a lot on this site, and looked into it myself, that aloe helps dreads out? I have a baby aloe plant, but it will not be anywhere near ready to be used for quite awhile...any tips on where/how I can get aloe for my dreads? what kind of aloe i.e aloe gel? cream? what can I use? I'm also contemplating posting on the barter group...But I'm not sure what I'm asking for...

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

Thanks everyone! yeah, lookin up pics of other dreads helps get the motivation goin! haha also, in the sunshiny weather, walkin through town with em hoppin and bouncin around! makes me feel great! =] I just gotta remember they're there, and that I love em. And yes, beads help alot! I'm gonna take one dread (when they get long enough) and turn it into my own personal set of prayer beads =] I love beads =] anyone got any other ideas on how to make em look fun?? lol

I guess ya just gotta love em as they are. just like learnin to love yourself! cuz...they are a part of you =] so, I've mastered loving who I am...now it's time to master loving my Dreads unconditionally =]

Sad Locks

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

I appreciate the feed back =] you're right, I just gotta embrace it...but this is the first time I've just let them do their thing, so I don't know exactly what to expect or if it's doing the right thing... ya know? and there is still some wax in a few of em, but for the most part it is going away with the washing and all that. some of em are a lil flat in the back. and i don't so much mind the frizziness, but the loose hairs are like...my natural hair coming through the dreads. they're not sticking out, they're not dreading...but, I guess i do just have to get it in my head that it is a process. I just over think it all sometimes, and constantly wonder if there is something wrong, or if it's just the process. and I don't mind the chaos of it, but I'm not a big fan of little loose straight hairs tickling my face haha

Sad Locks

Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support

My Dreadlocks feel sad...I know it's a process, but they're super frizzy, TONS of loose hairs that aren't forming into locks, and they're just...sad. I can feel their sadness eminating from my head. Any tips to cheer them/myself up?

Much Love,

Connor

Dandruff...methods to keep it under control?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Well, the shampoo I used before I got my locks, as far as I know based on research and such, has stuff in it that is not too healthy for them. So it got out of hand for awhile, but then I found a head & shoulders product that uses aloe in it and it has been working fine and...*checks head* not much dandruff as far as I can tell at the moment =]

Essential oils? Just any form of oil from a plant?

Thanks so much for the tips, I'll give that remedy a try asap =]
