natural aloe gel as an alternative to wax

Dread Products

wow. wax? oh. um. I am going to my sister's today to get an aloe plant in hopes of conditioning my hair. I don't want wax though. I am too confused on what to do now

I was told NO conditioners for a year. What say you?

Dread Maintenance

me too with the thick, wavy and dry hair. going today to get ann aloe plant from my sister, but before I leave I am going to try the baking soda 'wash' and apple cider vinegar rinse. I have only used Dr. Bronners 18-1 which only leaves my hair feeling like straw - dry and crunchy.

A time line. 9 months. No products. No tools. A bit of partial preliminary T&R. Seperation as needed.

Dreading Methods

I feel a lot more confident in my appearance now I have embraced my hairs natural tendency to be a mess (it never liked styles or straightening, it always rebelled!). I now only have to wash it once a week cos it just doesn't get greasy any more and that means no worries about many lank greasy hair on camping trips and what not. I love them, and I look forward to watching their continued organic, beautiful evolution.

tru dat!!!!

Dread Maintenance

I read here that using pure aloe helps with dryness and frizziness.

At CVS they have 100% pure aloe vera

but the ingredients list is as follows:

Aloe Vera Gel, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea.

um. doesn't look pure to me. what do you think??

Introduce Yourself

my husband is waiting for me to 'get over this phase' too! He says "are you gonna hold that stuff (my hair) back with something before we go out"? (yes dear, I have a wrap). Hang tight! I'm with the 'older' bunch as well :)
