Indian tents

General Talk

I am sorry I misread your post...I would for sure go with a yurt if you can....much easier to transport than tipi poles!Yurts are amazing they come in several sizes and feel good inside...nice acoustically

Indian tents

General Talk

We lived in a heavy canvas lean to for a few summers with four kids..it was a blast! Try a search for "rondezvous camping supplies"We called it the summer place! Anyway it looked like this with canvas doors you could roll up or down and some one made it and we had heavy poles not the branches in this link... http://www.trackofthewolf.com/categories/partList.aspx?catID=17&subID=119&styleID=442&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1&as=1 It had plenty of floor space lasted 15 years and would have lasted longer but we put it over our wood burning hot tub and eventually it did fall apart!Hope this helps

Downside to dreads? Keeping it real!

Introduce Yourself

Omg kids are adorable in locs...my friends son is mixed ... his grandma had such a cow over his magnificent locs the parents cut them off! Gramma rules the roost! As soon as this little man had hair mom let it dread ...so by the time he was six they were down below his shoulders...he has cafe con leche skin...gold (I kid you not he has very gold) hair and eyes...he has his head is shaved now ...broke everyones heart! He was so sad too and did not understand...

I love the visual of kitty and the shells!

I live in a VERY liberal place and locs are common here across the racial/cultural rainbow...not to mention we have a college here that is know for diversity of thought and behavior....but there are still folks with narrow vision who judge broadly

Downside to dreads? Keeping it real!

Ok this is meant to be fun because really these have so many pros for me ..especially the ten min out the door to work I need to do now!You save a ton of time and money by NOT investing (and I have) money that could be spent otherwise to improve life for yourself or others...in fact I have been calculating my savings haircuts alone were $$$! not to mention some insane costs with color adventures! And no brushing...still a bit hard after doing it my entire life 50 strokes a day!I have a long list of ups...mainly as mentioned someplace here part of all this is my last few years of work...moving to retirement (early age settling for poverty/simple self sufficiant life..instead of burn out)So for fun I have to admit every paradise has a few demons! So we all know the "beauty" or else why would we be here?So here are a couple of things1: I am an urgent care RN and I am at that level in life where my vision is changing...when starting an IV....reading a medication bottle...measuring wound..drawing bloods...doing all the close work...I can NOT PUT MY GLASSES ON MY HEAD! It is such a habit and putting them up there is easy and they stick there really well..it is getting them OUT! LOL!!! I have not figured a way to do this with out yanking my hair out! And it is not graceful or reassuring to anyone for a nurse to be yanking glasses out of newly forming dreads in a French braid!Ok I have tried them around my neck...anything around my neck drives me nut...tucking down the front of my shirt I move fast they fly onto the floor...this is NOT a big deal just funny to me that something I have done for years is so simple and now...well I just told you...2: folks assumptions that you smoke weed ...funny..if I do or not who cares? I am actively pro legal on a federal level not as medication but just let folks grow use and sell it legally...I have pretty much hidden my hair at work because even patients "assume" I want folks to trust that I am intact safe loving and caring...periodOk there are my two...not sure other than the occasional YOUCH! When they get caught in something! But that happened anyway with out locs!Any more?I am thrilled with how this is helping me progress and transition...ever progress and grow..never regress and stagnateYour turn I look forward to reading what funny or annoying things you have found?

Too cute! This is my entire head right now! I want to post a picture but this Ipad is not doing it?
I am just too lazy to use a pc work killed me this week!
My hair is shrinking into zig zags tree branches and gift bows...not touching it! Except a good wash three times a week
but honestly now my hair is truly cracking me up! It has is own mind that is for freaking sure! I am glad to do this now at this point in my life I could give a shit really what others think of how I look ( except the love of my life and he cracks up as well!)...what is hysterical is my colleagues reactions! They just do not understand why I do not want smooth silky hair and I have a hair bomd with out locs...so for years I have gotten extensive tips on how to rule my unruly hair! Unsolicited mind you! The whole not brushing it..I have had threats of being held down and combed out LOL...good humored..no one is mean they think I need help!
DUH FKING DUH! But I am happy being hapless and desheveled!

Good grief I had a dreaded panic this weekend with a huge head of loops lumps and frizz..I actually brushed two out that had formed gift bows!
Then I got a grip on myself ...browsing this thread is very helpful...I just thought it looked so flipping crazy I needed to do something

I do need to do something! Get over the need to control and just leave it be!
Thanks!
