locticians and patents on dreadlocks

General Talk

It's frustrating to see how petty people can be, and sadly, this is about as real as the ability to sue someone for serving you hot coffee.

I would like to believe that maybe it's someone who has good intentions but their path got diverted along the way by something. It's also something that may be a sign that could be good or could be bad, which would be locs are becoming trendy and people are getting them without really having and understanding of their importance.

Life Issues Facing Dreads

I am sorry to hear that you have had to make a tough decision like that, but it is admirable that you are willing to be the stronger person and do what you have to.

I hope things go in your favor.

new admins needed

General Talk

well, I will offer a helping hand if you need one.

I am a people person and am pretty good at helping settle tense discussions when need be. And I understand that sometimes you have to be the proverbial bad guy.

Though my locs are still young and I am early in my journey, information I can always locate and will happily try and find whatever someone asks. Luckily, and as mentioned beforehand, a lot of information is available on the site.

Head and shoulders shampoo question.

Dread Products

Something you could try:

when washing hair, use a diluted amount of the Dandruff shampoo. That way it's not so strong. After hair is clean and dandruff free, the next time you shower, use a more basic, residue free shampoo. Alternate them, just make sure that if you have to use the dandruff shampoo, to use sea salt water directly afterwards so that it helps.

I know there are some residue free shampoos online that help with dandruff, my friend has to order it, I can see about finding the stuff she uses and put it up here.

dread wax why ya don't want it why ya don't need it and how to remove it

Dread Products

I am so glad I didn't manage to do any waxing. Which, I kinda wonder, if someone were to use wax when they were getting the locks, and then they never were to mess with wax again, but still left the wax that they had in the hair, what exactly could that do to the locks? Other than slowing the locking process? Would it cause long term damage? Or eventually, after a long time, just come out?
