Dying dreads?

Help! Save My Dreads

Bleach is very bad and so are dandruff shampoos. Get some shampoo from www.dreadlockshampoo . com. Wash with cold to warm water with a really cold rinse for the final rinse. U should ALWAYS wash like this. Do not use hot water at all! Essential oils are also good for dandruff but forget which ones. This isn't instant dandruff free but it will cut it down and u should be dandruff free in a month or 2!

Dread Maintenance

You actually shouldn't be using hot water at all. I use slightly warm water but more on the cooler side then for my final rinse I use the coldest water I can stand.

Dread Maintenance

When ANYONE tells u that u need to wax needs to redo their math and get dreaducated! Wax prevents hair from dreading. It's messy, nasty and almost next to impossible to completely remove without shaving ur head! Wax is nothing but problems and a waste of money. Don't listen to those damn YouTube videos about maintenance cause all they are doing is destroying theirs along with many others. All u need to do is wash and separate! It's not that hard to do, seriously! Dreads have been around for thousands of years and long before man created the comb and all that other crap ppl are putting in there dreads! If u think u need wax, crotchet hook, palm rolling and so on then u should really rethink ur dreads. Wax holds water in ur dreads making it impossible to completely dry which cause more problems like dread rot and a funky ass smell. Wax is why dreadlocks have such a bad reputation. That and ppl who swear ur not supposed to wash ur dreads!

Dry brittle hair

General Talk

Back in octoberish I started using jojoba oil and aloe Vera to moisturize my dry brittle hair. Used them maybe 3 or 4 times since and seems to be drying my hair out even more. I have noticed more of my dreads just hanging on by a few strands and 3 broke completely of at the roots. With the colder weather also playing a factor with the problem I'm now beginning to think about shaving my head after 2yrs natural. I don't know why my hair doesn't want the moisture. It's like repelling it or something! Any suggestions?

Embrace and love the loops and zig zags and keep your money! NEVER give in to ANY salon or someone else who does "maintenece"!

Thinning hair

Introduce Yourself

I have a thinning bald spot on the crown of my head. Any more I could care less about it! The more you start to worry about thinning hair or a bald spot you're gonna want to shave your dreads. You have dreads so stop worrying of a thin spot or whatever. IF you went natural I bet you didn't care how your hair looked. Do just the same for the thinning spot!
