Dread Maintenance

I have this 'messy, pre-dready, knotty' thing going on here and was wondering what I should do with it. It's now starting to stick straight out.

Soap/Shampoo Ingredients? good or bad

Dread Maintenance

I have some homemade soap and was wondering if its 'dread worthy'.I have fine, straight hair and i exercise every day, which makes my head sticky or oily.its been 3 weeks into the process and i started with washing every 3rd day, but down to every other day.Suggestions?oh, here are the ingredients to the soap:olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, almond oil, avocado oil, shea butter, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, color and fragance.thanks in advance !

Introduce Yourself

Hey there, like a lot of you, I was ready to buy the DHHQ kit and go for it.

And like all of you THANK GOD I didn't.

My son, altho he is mortified by his mother getting dreads, sectioned my hair and i twist & rip, put rubberbands in the ends and palm rolled every day once or twice.

I wash every third day.

beginning of week 3 i took bands out and left them alone.

I tried the BS & ACV wash.

Didn't like it as well as Dr. Bonners but it cleaned them. They are started to come out a bit at the ends and at the scalp but i have no worries because you all said it would happen.

It is killing me not to touch them..... but I'm trying.

All my family and my church friends think I'm nuts and I have already heard every negative comment there is.

Idon'tknow if anyone has said this but the question is wrong.... Whatdoesn'tthe bible say about it...

1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

when the bibledoesn'tsay something about a certain subject, as long as it is not breaking the overall 10commandments, you have grace. Do all for the glory of God. Your church is being legalistic and altho you may love your church and the people in it, they are hurtful to the body of Christ.

In the end you need to decide if having dreadlocks is right, but nowhere does the bible or God condemn it.

I am still the body of Christ and I am to be a witness to the world. Can I still witness with tats and dreads? oh yes! and so can you. let us know how your journey goes.
