My dreads/tips are looking like crap and are really loose!

General Questions

Yea those definetly look great. my dreads looked much messyer than that at that stage. one thing i've learned is that if you study your dreads too much, you'l loose the beauty of them in your own eyes. a few months ago i had tons of loose hair everywhere (not to say that i dont now) and i thought it looked bad enough to start with wax again, but when i talked to my friends (my real friends, not the ignorant, selfrightious, shorthaired, stiffs) i found out that they thought my dreads looked great.

also the more you try to make your dreads look less messy, the messyer they will be.

the more you chill out and let them be messy, the the less messy they will become.

dreads have a way of doing that... you know... helping you grow to see past aesthetics and such lol

happy dreading, dreadbro!

Lol, look at my mom on my page, think she let me dread my hair? Hell no. she accepts them now that im out of the house, I still don't think she likes them because sure pretty conservative and owns a salon, but I'm educating her on dreadlocks and a more free life style. She knows that a person is more then what their hair looks like:

The Wool Method?

Dreading Methods

Hai! i backcombed my dreads almost a year ago and my dreads look great thanks to the advice to lay off the wax early on.

anyways, looking back, i remembered a website in which they listed the "wool sweater/wool hat" method. i'll attatch a screenshot i took so i dont have to write out the deets lolz.

so i guess the REAL point i'm posting this is to ask if anyone has made there dreads this way, and if so how they turned out... because it sounds like they would be ridiculously painful and look absurd directly afterwards.

In Short: I'm Dread-Curious for the second time! haha

peace! :)

ive tryed t&r like twice and backcombing at least once! it just falls out in the shower :/ and ther arent any dreads close enough for the hair to go into... lol

i second the t&r on the bigger sections. if you have hair that belongs to one of the already locked up dreadlocks than you could use a tapestry needle and sew them into the correct one.

Dread Maintenance

hey guys so heres the deal: ive had dreads for liiiike 9 months and they're very well locked, but prior to me dreading up i had the bright idea to use a chemical on my hair to straighten it. this ruined my hair (kinda like what they do at salons) and broke off alot at the scalp. now that was like a year ago, so i have all these chunks of loose hair all over my scalp and I CANT GET IT 2 DREAD!!! ill post some pix lol
