I have that problem with the Tea Tree Doc Bronners but not the Lavender, I do believe it is some kind of residue, do you by any chance have hard water?

She needs to understand everyones dreads are just like them, unique....well if they're not manufactured. If she really cares for you she will accept and love your hair just as she does you! <3
I had that problem a few months ago badly, I ended up doing the seperating and even had to cut a couple (shhh yes it was a bad idea but I did it) apart, what I did was the ones that were really congoing at the roots I threw some beads on them and pushed them all the way to the root and each couple days I made sure to push the bead back towards the root to try to keep things seperated, I also wrapped a couple just at the roots with some hemp to try to discourage any congoing at the root, I am now at about 13-14 months and RARELY seperate, my daughter who is 1-2 months in now, I have to seperate all the time, i think as your dreadlocks become more established and knotted towards the roots the less you have to seperate.
I agree with the Doc Bronners! My bottle has lasted me more than a year, (granted I don't use that always but I've used it lots and also on my children!)
I get it all the time, I get called a hippie, and dirty, and now that I'm letting my daughter dreadlock her hair I get the "you're just lazy" approach alot. What they don't seem to know is that my hair is healthier and cleaner now than it ever has been! I take so much better care of it because I don't hate it like I did for 22 years of my life, and my daughter loves her "baby breadlocks" as she calls them and we are instilling on our children that they can like what they want, and be who they want regardless of what others say or feel. I also aim to teach my children to re-educate those who are making judgements based on myths and ignorance of not knowing. I just smile and go about my business because most of the ones who are judging me are hypocritical, or immensly caked in makeup and fake. Good luck in your journey and don't let ignorance get ya down, yes people may judge you from afar and consider you a "pot head" or a "hippie" or whatever the case may be...but if they are really that shallow and judgemental do you really want them in your lives or care what they think? <3
I personally rather seprate while dry, my hair is sooo elasticy (sp?) when wet that it won't do anything but stretch! I do seperate when wet on occassions cause sometimes the hair will just slip out of its "hold" but if something really needs seperated I do it when dry. Good luck!
Love moments like that! I've only met a few fellow dreadies but one guys was natural and they were just amazing, its neat to connect on such a level :D
I am soooo excited for you! I love that you're pain free and feel so much better Panterra!!! <3<3<3
