Loose dreads

Introduce Yourself

So I'm 3 weeksinto my new dreads, and I'm really excited about them.

I used the twist and rip method and have absolutely no product in my hair. I use aloe vera to tame the frizz in the morning before going off to work, and I wash with Dr Bronners 2-3 times a week.
I've read a lot of things about the first stages of dreads, but I just want to make sure...
Last week my hair was tightening up pretty well, but now they're loosening a lot. One dread in the back came completely out, and I had to re-do it. Not a biggie, but I want to lock these babies up as best as I can.
Should I backcomb or palm roll them?
How long will it take for them to tighten?
I know I might be stressing, but I just want a little reassurance :)

What to do when the wrong hair is in the dread?

General Questions

My dreads are about 2 1/2 months old and are really fuzzy because they were crocheted, but after reading I understand they'll calm down eventually.Anyway, I have a question about the wrong hair in the wrong dreads.I have 2 dreads near the base of my neck that are connected to each other by a good size chunk of hair. I'm tempted to cut it with scissors, but that seems like a really tragic idea. How should I separate them? I don't want them to lock together, but I really don't want to try and untangle them and re-dread them. What other options do I have? Any suggestions?Thanks!<3

Thin/skinny dreadlocks! Help!

General Questions

So I have 2 month old dreads now, and got them done professionally while traveling in Mexico. The method used was crochet. I have about 32 dreadlocks, and I'm not happy because in the back, you can see my scalp inbetween the dreads. Will they eventually thicken up? Does anyone else have experience with thin dreadlocks? I hope they will fill out! I know now that crocheted dreadlocks are a controversial thing, but it's what I have right now and for the most part I'm satisfied with the individual dreads. I just wish they were fuller. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks guys! :-}
