Any dready midwives out there??

General Talk

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it seemed to be the most suited so here I go:

I am really really interested in becoming a midwife, but I'm a little confused about the schooling needed. If any of you are midwives, or looking into becoming one could you possibly add a bit about your experience or your plans in becoming one? I am looking into a school called Midwives College Utah (MCU) next year, but I'm not sure what the requirements are for a practicing midwife after school. Is it a necessity, or wise to go to nursing school before hand, or would it be okay to just attend a specific school such as this as a bit of a head start? Ah, maybe this is really confusing.. but I don't really know anything :( I also don't know any midwives so it's hard to talk to someone about it, and so I figured asking on here would be a super idea. So here is a link to the school I am interested in and maybe some of you could help me out!! http://www.midwifery.edu/

Thanks doods!

Hello everyone!

Introduce Yourself

Welcome! You're dreads look great but if you're using wax you should strongly consider stopping. Nothing good ever comes out of using that stuff.. check around for yourself around the site and get on wax removal as soon as possible if that's the case! Good luck :)

Backcombed dreads!??!? are they dooooomed!?

Introduce Yourself

Hello everybody!First of all, I'm a newbie here and am already sooo so so SO impressed by all of your dreads, attitudes, beautifulness and i love you all. I've wanted dreadlocks since I can remember, but got serious about actually getting them after All Good fest last year and saw some very gorgeous locks. I'm a researcher and of course came across DreadHeadHQ and Knottyboy prettty quickly. Who wouldn't be fooled by that right? Bright colors, happy people, guarantees that are almost an immediate seller. Fortunately I live in Germany and the shipping is OUTRAGEOUS so in my quest to find starter kits for sale in my country, I came across dreadlockssite.com. Wooooo!!!! Thank god for ridiculous shipping prices blocking my way to doomed dreads and introducing me to all of you! So after spending a very long time looking at discussions and pictures and deciding there is no way in hell i'm putting any waxy shit in my hair, I spend a good 4 days having them backcombed in. (I'm not even finished yet but my buddy is in Paris for the weekend so what can ya do?) I know, I know... I then looked more to realize that itself probably wasn't a great idea. They're backcombed in realllyyyyyy tightly, and I plan on just letting them be for now on but are they gonna unravel despite the ferocious backcombing job that was done on them? I'm really worried because I truly love them already, and love the way i feel about myself with them, and love being part of this community that I really would just like to hear what you guys think. Gimme some advice to help me keep them aliveeeee! Oh and more importantly, be my friends yo! I love dready friends and I need some more!Chat soon,Randyp.s sorry the pics are like shitty but they're the only ones i got right now. If anything you can at least put a face to my name!

Hey guys,i just got a red/ blue nose pitbull mix,and i cant think of a name.

Introduce Yourself

I've always loved the name Kid for a dog, although I've never had one named Kid or known one named Kid. I just pictured someone saying "Come on Kid" or "Kid come here". I don't know, I just think it's really cute!

thats making a hell of alot of assumptions i find most ppl when they realize its normal and ok to have loops and lumps are imensly proudd of theyre favorite loops and really miss them when theyre gone
now i can understand someone with ocd becomming obsessive about removing them but the average dreadhead learns to love them and even regrets moving into a more mature stage when they arent so crazy

alot of not most of the spirituality of dreading is in excepting imperfections and the lack of a need to impress anyone else and in embracing the crazy way they form organicly
and that is why alotta ppl who stat that way feel robbed of thye experience and start over naturally
