That's pretty much correct. I was speaking mostly in technicalities to try to explain it easier, but you seemed to explain it much more simply than I ever could LOL!And yeah, phrase keywords tend to do a lot better than single word keywords. Don't really know why : /Also, rather than trying to single out tougher keywords, maybe put more emphasis on the keywords that don't get as many hits so you get better ranking with those instead? Although, I'm guessing you prolly wanna knock dreadheadHQ and knottyboy outta the water, here. hehe.. xD

That's great!

What affects the google position? Can't you just make background images containing the word 'dreadlocks' thousands of times etc?
Google position is determined by relevance to the search and site traffic. Relevance is determined by whether or not a combination of meta keywords and site content are literally relevant to the search. Meaning, if you search for the word "dreadlock" its going to post the website most relevant to that search at the top of the list. It means all over the site, particularly in the meta tags and the site title itself (what shows at the top of your web browser, that's the title) determine what rank you get. So if you have a lot of linked pages about dreadlocks, and if the word dreadlock is repeated hundreds (maybe even thousands, depending on the word popularity in searches) of times, you'll get good ranking. It won't work if it's just a picture that has the word dreadlock on it, because it's basically just robots going through your site. The robots can read the words, but they don't technically know what the picture is of, if that makes any sense at all... or did I just confuse everyone in Search Engine Optimization 101?Basically, you're ranking for a search of the word "dreadlock" is based on how many times you have the word "dreadlock" in the meta tags, the site title, and the website itself, compared to other websites that have the word "dreadlock" in their website. So technically speaking, if a website generated more traffic than you, and had the word "dreadlock" on the pages more often, it would be higher ranking that you. Even if it was literally just a blank white page with the word "dreadlock" written hundreds of thousands of times... lol

I found this place by searching "dreadlocks forum" on google. It was number one or number two on the list, if I remember correctly. Also, you can use Google Analytics to spyder the site and pick out keywords for your meta tags, among other things. I used it on my business website and it picked out over 300 new keywords for me, which more than doubled my search base and site visitors. It's also helpful to make sure you have as many of those keywords as possible, sometimes even repeated, in the title of the site. Not sure whether or not you use html but if you do I can help you with all that if you need it.Hope that helps. :)

So this has nothing to do with dreadlocks, but I'm so excited I couldn't wait to show it off. :)I just got my wedding dress back today from the tailor here. I had some abalone shell beads, sequins, and other what-nots added to my dress. Squee! It's so pretty! I never would have guessed it would turn out this well. Now I just have to make a matching red veil. I wonder if I could maybe add little garlands of ity-bity sea shells along the skirting of the veil. That would be really pretty. And before I forget, here are the pics:

seems they are changing very quickly

Dreading Methods

yeah next you start losing length as the hair actually locks up. afterwards you will have your new growth come in and grow into your locks until they become really tight, and they will fatten up a bit as that happens.it's great that your locks are moving along so quickly! mine did the same thing, they came together really fast. i'm now nearly a year in and mine keeps hopping back and forth between stages. i still have mad loopies, to the extent that my hair looks really curly but it's actually really fine and straight. for the past 6mos.+ I have been going back and forth from a loopy stage to a new growth stage, over and over. I'm wondering if maybe you will have the same thing happen as time goes on.It seems as though everyone is different in their journey, no two dreads are ever alike. I even have dreads on my head that are progressing far faster than others, meaning different lengths, maturity, and looks. That's what makes everything so fun, though! :)

Reading about crocheting made me actually wanna pull out my yarn and needle yesterday. In the midst of looking for my yarn basket, I actually found a shirt I was in the process of making last year and I finished it. Hooray for an extended attention span! lol

Yeah, I learned how to crochet basic stitches a couple years back but it takes me FOREVER to make stuff. I remember I made a tam for my daughter and it took me 3 months to finish it. Which sucks, cuz she never even wears it. Threw a big tantrum over wanting a tam, wore it for a day then never put it on again. xDI just don't have the patience. I know how, but I do ten stitches and that's it for me for a couple days. lol...

So I remember seeing on here somewhere how it was mentioned that wool was good for your dreads. Tams, Headbands, Scarves, and even Pillowcases. So that gave me an idea...I'm a bit too broke right now to get anything new from etsy, even though I'm in LOVE with the headband I bought from there a few months back... I've been craving something new. Hey, it's a girl thing...So I started searching through my closet. I found an old wool sweater, and a wool knee skirt. Neither of which I wear anymore. And voila! I made a pillowcase out of the skirt and I cut up and re-sowed the sweater to make some headbands and a scarf. A pic of the pillowcase is below. :)Whee! I'm so proud of myself! It's comfy, and cushy, uber cute, and best of all it was free! I <3 free stuff.
