10 year dread product questions

General Questions

Awesome thanks!! I am going to give a wash whenever I can get the shampoo and stuff... I think I honestly will cut them soon though they are almost on the ground.. It just is not practical for me to have dreads this long. I absolutely hate washing my hair and having super wet dreads that take 2 days to dry, and having to blow dry is even worse. Having to dry dreads on a rack like that is completely ridiculous to me lol I feel like it holds me back from a lot of stuff such as rock climbing and have had some really dangerous experiences with them getting caught in the belay device etc.. I think they are beautiful and will definitely grow them out again if I cut them...If I cut them I will definitely have more than 10 lol

10 year dread product questions

General Questions

Hi! So I have been growing my locks for 10 years now and have 10 fatties. What do you recommend for a good hair dryer? Even when I towel dry real good and blow dry them for like 2 hours with a regular hair dryer they are still damp for like 2 days!  So I don't know if I can manage to wash my dreads weekly like was suggested before because of the hassle, I work and am too busy to have a whole day just to dry my dreads every week. I almost always wear a tam to keep them clean, especially working, except when I sleep. I need to do a SUPER deep clean real bad since its been a long time honestly cant remember.  So do you recommend ordering the knot rot liquid, bar soap, regular liquid soap, and detox and use them All IN THE SAME wash to get rid of that brown mud crap in my fatter ones from the BS/acv rinses?? Should I use a whole bottle of knot rot, seems kinda expensive, how would you apply it, and how often would you recommend using it?? I want to order everything ASAP plus a microfiber towel to do a good wash soon and hopefully do it more regular.. Also detox that you mentioned is not listed on dreadlockshampoo, so how do I order it??

Help! Save My Dreads

Thanks!! I will probably wash with the dreadlockshampoo I have tomorrow. Got the nagchampa and dragons blood.. Even that is hard to wash out too honestly.. I was thinking about leaving a few of the longer less fat ones and cutting the rest and starting over. Do you think the other ones would catch up in length after a while? Or would it be cool to have all different sizes? If I do end up starting again i will definitely use beads to help section it and so they don't all try to eat eachother.

Help! Save My Dreads

very thick i only have 10 one of them it's like at least a few inches thick especially towards the root. I work full time and really busy with life i just find it hard to find a whole nice sunny day to just sit out in the sun. I hadn't washed them in months maybe like most of the winter. Not sure really ..I did a gallon of water to 3/4 -1 cup bs 20 drops of tea tree, 20 drops of lavender, 20 drops of peppermint, and like 25 or rosemary and just let in sit for like 20 or 30 minutes.. Then washed and squeezed them real good but still had that problem.

7 year dreads help

Help! Save My Dreads

I have had my dreads now for like at least 7 years. I'm honestly really bad about washing them because it sucks to because they are soo big and heavy and take like days to dry even blow drying them. I hadn't washed them in a long ass time and went to do a bs with essential oils followed by the acv rinse. I washed them for quite a while. I went to dry them for a while with a hair dryer and noticed they were all sticky and when i squeezed them there was still tons of water and my hands got covered in white sticky stuff. Possibly baking soda??? Further squeezing them all this nasty brown water came out. A few of them definitely have a funky smell to them. I'm honestly thinking about cutting them leaving a few of them and letting the rest dread up again and not get soo big cause its a pain it the ass. Any suggestions??
