Just wanted to say this site is amazing! I see all the beautiful people in there journey of dreading and helping each other out with dreading and life. I look at photos and can't wait till me hairs starts to some together ( which I know it takes awhile). So thanks S.E. and everybody on here. Im the same boat about little over a month going natural/neglect my hair is doing same thing. Stay strong, positive and have hope.

Cow manure sign me up NOT! If somebody wanted to do that for a spiritual reason they can go ahead I would never judge them but no way would I put any kind of poo in my hair. A lot of people are just closed minded in general. They are molded to wait society thinks is proper and stuck in there own little box. For those few of us that actually can step outside our boxes and see a whole new life and world, Kudos to us. We are the ones who understand what being an individual is all about.

It's kinda funny your dad built you up and brought out a comb. I might have taken that comb home and framed it. You did handle it well. Parents can be very funny sometimes especially if it is something they don't like about your appearance. My mom always is like I'm going to sneak into your room and just shave your head and I just laugh and know she is kidding. ( I hope) You just got to chuckle inside to everybody who wants to put you down and always remember why you started what you did in you life. Cause you wanted to. And to NaturalWomyn that is hilarious that the guy said that lmao. I hope I get funny comments like that once mine start locking.

So I thought it was really funny of the miss conception of dreads to people I know.Since i haven't combed or touched my hair I tell people around me that I 'm growing dreads and the first thing out of most there mouths are so your going to stop taking showers lol. I just kinda start chuckling like really that's what you think. I tell them I take a shower almost everyday and wash my hair 2- 3 times a week like your supposed to anyways I just don't scrub nor do I run my hands through my hair. I tell them how dreads are formed and it's is a long process ( journey). Some people look at me like I'm crazy then some think it's awesome. Finally my mom is coming around which wouldn't matter cause was going to do it anyways. I personally get humor out of peoples reactions. I have never cared what people thought of me nor will i start it's my body, my life i will try to educate people on things and if they still want to judge it's there problem. So everybody keep your mind strong and if people want to judge you negatively let them. It's your choice as long as your happy that's all that matters. Don't let there hatred bring you down The people who really matter should take you for who you are and let you be you! This goes for anything in your life too, not just your hair choice. Peace Love Be Free and most important be you!
