styling my hair

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

Chesca's videos are awesome. Since your hair is on the shorter side, check out qochemist's videos.

I have to look at my saved links to see any more.

Also, if your hair is too short for a ponytail, then you will just have to let them be for awhile until they are longer.

It will suck for awhile but they'll be long enough in no time.

hair grease

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Oiling your scalp can make a dandruff problem worse, not better.

There are a bunch of different oils you can try. Some use jojoba oil, some use shea butter (sparingly though), aloe vera, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil. I suggest, depending on budget, just trying a couple and seeing what works because what works for some won't work for all. Also, what you are washing your hair with can hurt/help the problem with dry dreads and scalp as well.

my dreads are thining out in the front

Help! Save My Dreads

You don't have to twist them up to style them. Just braid or flat twist into whatever style you are going to do.

Also, people swear by using Jamaican black castor oil or regular castor oil to help strengthen hairline edges.

Better yet, stop twisting so much and your hairline should come back ok.

Crochet or Knit Tam Patterns

General Questions

This is a good video. Keep in mind that there are five parts to it.

Here is another one:

Also, hit up http://www.ravelry.com/ for patterns.

Hope this helps...

Does palm rolling damage your dreads in any way

Dread Maintenance

Palmrolling can cause damage if done too often like any other maintenance method.

Don't do it too much and you'll be alrite.

why its important to understand what natural dreads are

Dreading Methods

Why make a thread about it? Especially if you are going to delete posts that you think will start an argument?

I know this will probably get deleted but oh well...

dreads from braiding

Dreading Methods

Depending on your hair texture, the braid pattern will go away with time. Check my pics. You can't even tell there was ever a braid in MY hair. But my texture is different than yours. Even two people with similar hair textures will have different results.

Also, don't even think about super glue.

As far as the other comments in this thread, I'm SMDH but it is to be expected on this site.

HELP!

Help! Save My Dreads

They look good from the pics.

You can still "neglect" your hair and add oils if your hair is feeling dry. You could try jojoba oil, olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, etc. Just play around with different ones till you find what works for you.

Trust, they WILL mat up on their own without you doing a thing.

Also, the loose hairs will sprout into new dreads when left alone.

thick or thin dreads for blonde hair

Dreading Methods

New dreddie is a very sweet person. She never said or alluded to hating anyone, LOL.

As far as Thunderquall being Black (if that is how he chooses to classify himself) doesn't matter. He can still be ignorant about dreads and for me, Daveovthedead's statements were more ignorant. This thread was about thick or thin dreads for blonde hair and he went on a tangent and gave his uninformed statements about Black dreads :(

Hating haters seems self contradictory ;)

Isn't Thundersquall 'black' himself even?
