Lol. Well i guess it worked then? I generally recommend no ultra because it's a lot more harsh. Oh well. Hopefully it resolved your issue. Oh and the extra dreadiness is thanks to the super stripping you just did with the wash. Your hair will return to normal in time.
Don't bother getting the neutrogena shampoo. That stuffs crap. Go pick up a small bottle of dawn dish washing liquid. The regular blue one, no ultra. That stuff will work better at removing all the residue in your hair and not leave it silky soft like the neutrogena will.
Could be fungus. It smells a bit like sour cheese. You might need a medicated shampoo to clear it. Also you only shampoo every 2-3 weeks? I would definitely bump that up to at the very least once a week especially with all the activity she's doing.
i remember someone in australia mentioning thursdays plantation tea tree shampoo. also there's a website called weirdsistas. they have a shampoo bar that looks pretty good. they're located in australia. lush shampoo bars are good and sold in australia. you could always just go with dr. bronners if you don't have a hard water issue. i believe they're sold worldwide.
I'm going to chime in here. I love the dreadlock shampoo bars but i too get build up after a few uses so that's why i alternate with the lush bars. In the beginning i wasn't using enough then i was told to really get a big lather going. No amount of rinsing resolves it. I've kind of just dealt with it because i really love the scents of vicki's bars and i have about 8 of them that I'd really like to use up. It just goes to show that not all products work for everyone.

I've tried almost all of them. My personal favorite is the sandalwood/Tonka bean. It leaves my hair cuddly soft and smelling super yummy. I use the tea tree rosemary when i feel like my scalp needs some extra cleaning. The bars get my hair really clean but still knotted. I have about 10 bars in my bathroom and i rotate depending on my mood.
I've actually tried that soap in my hair. It got my hair really clean but it did leave a bit of a residue. I ended up grating up the rest of the bar and using it in my homemade laundry soap.
It kind depends on a few factors if this soap would be okay to use. Do you have soft water? True soaps have a hard time rising out in hard water. Do you live in a dry or humid area? Glycerin is great for people in a moist/humid environment because the glycerin will draw the moisture from the air and into your hair. If you live in a dry environment like i do than the glycerin will actually draw the moisture out of your hair and cause it to become dry and brittle over time.
My hair is fine and thin. Some of my sections are much larger than one inch and the mature dread is only about the size of my pinkie finger. Due to my thin hair i have less hair per square inch than someone with thick hair. Your dreads will be super skinny at the beginning but will most likely double in size by maturity.

I decided to tnr one little dreadie to see if I want to go that way. My hair is going to take ages to start forming so figured it wouldn't hurt to see how I like it. I did a spot about the size of a quarter up underneath and it's super skinny, just a few millimeters. Should I go a bit bigger since my hair is so thin? I know they're supposed to mature into the size of the base amount of hair chosen, but I also heard that can vary with super thin hair?
