There are some cool cats here surprisingly. I've heard there is a guy around here who has locks down to his knees. I live around lebanon in the country part. About a 30 minute drive to Nashville. I think your about 2 hours away from me.

Well if you want locks you have to get used to it!! :-P Who cares what other people think? Growing locks will help you weed out the losers and find awesome worthwhile friends. People will always pick on other people who choose to live a different lifestyle or just plain look different. Whether that be being fat, a vegetarian, a dreadhead etc etc. Try to dreaducate them.
wearing a hat 24/7 will not help lock up your hair. Put on a hat if your cold or if you dont feel like showering that day
you need your hair to move around so it can knot up, sleeping and wearing a tam will help compress
i only have one really flat lock. at first i didnt like it, but at the same i like it cause its not a typical round lock. It's special. It may round over time, it may not, but i dont really care ;]
Havent been there for about 4 years but i saw quite a few walking around, met a few. I love that mountain town.
