I started my dreadlocks almost 29 months ago. After having them crotchet, removing them at day 9 and letting them go natural from there on out. So, now most of mine are pretty matured just short. Lol.
I decided to let my triplet girls hair naturally form into dreads also. We are on about day 10 and 2 of them are just taking off awesomely! I'll try to post pics soon.
My questions are, willmaintaining/washing/separating their locks essentially be the same routine as mine?
SE, I have no idea. Im wondering if I use too much baking soda? That can be drying. Ive been adding Jojoba oil to my wash in hopes that will help. Im off to order a bar now Ill keep you posted. Thank you!
I havent been on here in forever so I dont know of any changes, but I am going to order one of these come payday to see if they help my really dry dreads.
Another one, underneath broke off today. Thats 3 in like 3 months
Okay
And I did try the bars once. The seemed like they an icky film on my hair?
Then again, maybe that was because it was early.
I think today Ill maybe try no BS?
Literally Ive done nothing. The crochet were out like 2 years ago then I went natural. I use BS/ACV in my wash with peppermint essential oils. No salt at all since I tried to get them going natural. But that was a very very long time ago.

ok u crocheted and used seasalt did u over use saqlt abnd that combined with tghe destruction of crochet is probly why they broke
i hope u havent doneeither salt ior crochet in a long time
I havent done anything to them since I took the crochet out. Nothing. I only wash every 5-7 days. I havent even used sea salt since like week 3. :/
I think they were maybe just weak in the middle. Im going to wash today. Maybe too much baking soda? I'll add the jojoba oil to my rinse. They dont FEEL dry so thats why I was so concerned. It was 2 very thin little ones too.
My dreads are *almost* 2 years old now and I'm noticing that they are very dry. I had 2 tear off right in the middle today while I was seperating!
YIKES! So I am freaking just a little.
Aloe Vera gel?
Jojoba oil?
How? Just right now rub some in? Add it to my wash? When its wet? Dry?
Thanks everyone!
xoxo
Yep. And sleeping on a wool pillowcase too.
I did try T&R on a few but it still taking a long time, plus the T&R is making the ends go different. On the natural ones. the ends are blunting, but on the T&R ones, they arent.
My hair was wavy/curly before.

Thank you so much everyone. I feel so much better now. I feel like my hair dreaded 'oddly'. I think that when they do mature, the ends will be blunted naturally. The ends are just big fat, flat knots and the middle up to the roots are rounded. My husband asked me "Why are yours dreading all weird"? Um, thanks honey. That sure helps the self esteem. :/
But I feel much better now. All your comments helped a ton.
