ACV BAKING SODA WASH?

Dread Maintenance

this is what i do:find 2 plastic bottles 500ml each, make about 3mm hole in each cup.put 1 tablespoon of baking soda in one of them, top with warm water and shake to dissolve the soda.in the OTHER one: pour a bit of vinegar, just a little, maybe 2 tablespoons... 15 drops of rosemary oil, 10 drops of tea tree oil (later u will find your best mix), top with warm water, shake..when u r in the shower, wet your hair and pour the soda mix first, all over your head, leave it a while (i normally wash my body in between), than rinse out.after that pour vinegar mix, the same way, wait a while, rinse...hope the metric measurements wont confuse u... good luck;)

I have had dreads since September, fake ones with WAX! lol and I plan to (I have to wait until pictures at Christmas time per a request from my husband) comb it all out and start over at the end of the year, WAX FREE! WOO HOOOO!
I plan to use the twist and rip method since my husband, who was against me doing this in the first place, requested that I not do the all natural method, which is what method I would use if I weren't married. But...he is a good man so it's all good. ;)

New to dreads i have questions. Help?

Introduce Yourself

easiest thing in the world.... stop using shampoo and stop using anything to comb your hair.all u have to do is find something your scalp is comfortable with, some kind of soap to wash. i use baking soda-vinegar combination, there is a recipe on this site, its great...and separate strands of hair by hand every week or so..in a years time u have dreads..

family says ill have to take dreads out sometime...

General Talk

dont worry about it...u cant make old people think what u want, u cant ever make them admit they r wrong...all u can do is get on with life and ignore them...they grew up in a different society, different world, they dont understand ours.i know it sucks, but all u can do is change your attitude, cant ever change hers...there are many kinds of jobs and in a free society nobody should make you change your hairstyle. some still try, but u can always focus on a field where they dont...

a interlocking loctician wanted to show me how great interlocking is

Dreading Methods

look...just to add a bit more of me here...i love black people and i love black hair... i used to live with some and i think they abuse their hair so much just to make it look more 'neat' or more 'caucasian' like..i think its a part of human personality that we are never satisfied with what we have, and its with hair too, we always like somebodys elses more..i dont like interlocking because i love the look when dreads are growing out of a 'moss' :), thats on black hair texture and i think its so beautiful.still, people go throught all the pain and hard work to get rid of something so beautiful just because its probably considered untidy in a community... i dont know why..i'd love to have a more curly hair...like blacks have... but i dont.. cant do nothing...trying to like what i have...;)

You have a very nice day too :-) thanks for clarifying that...

i have no idea where you ve found negativity in my words... i sad 'as lot of black people do it', because its true, i ve seen much more people with african hair doing that than white, but that is not a point..its an unimportant bit of my comment..
the rest of your comment i dont understand.. i dont judge, i dont attack, im just straight and sometimes sarcastic...
have a nice day...

Mylaylay18 said:
Correction - There are black people who do not do anything to their locs just like whites. No need for negativity. That's the sad part..people can't just share their opinions without making it an all out rude conversation. Messy or not, your words speak louder than how you wear your dreads and I don't see a bunch of lockers with their SCALPS out on here negative and talking about the messy heads...it's like people always have to find a way to DIFFERENTIATE THEMSELVES FROM EACH OTHER WHEN WE'RE ALL IN THE SAME POT ON THE SAME PLANET.

Mikey Mikez said:
i dont see a point of baldness shining through the hair out...
this is what a lot of black people do to have their locks 'neat'... and the reason why some of them have their hair ripped of scalp in places...
not good for white hair, we like our messy dreads, because they dont look like a bits of rope glued on a bald head!
fuck the pain for a few hairless lines... crazy people..
