Questioning Equal opportunity employment.

General Talk

If you say so, SE. Given my past experiences with the judicial system, I guess that's just not how I feel.

For one, I wasn't there longer than that. And for two, even if I was, and even if I weren't dirt-poor, you know as well as I that they would totally out-lawyer me...

Nothing. They didn't even mention them until I worked for them for a week or so. I should mention too that I moved from Pittsburgh to Colorado for the job and now I'm stuck in a 6-month lease without a job after only 2 months. Awesome.

In January I started working for Vail Resorts (specifically Keystone). Although they hired me w/ dreads and my job required zero customer interaction, after a week or 2 of employment they insisted I keep them as hidden as possible at all times. Coworkers were allowed to keep "well-groomed beards", but I had to remain clean shaven, as long as I wished to keep my dreads. My boss said it was "one or the other". Friday they fired me.

These huge corporations can do whatever they want.

help meeting good peoples

Ugh some of you huys certainly have the wrong idea. I'm not short on friends, nor do I struggle to meet people. I'm very outgoing, and I have tons of friends. What I'm short on is friends w/ dreads, and that's why I posted this. A lot of my friends are really wrapped up in the consumer culture in which we live, and that upsets me. That's what I mean when I say good people. Don't make assumptions.

I feel like I'm not really in much of a position to start either one. I don't have a good place to live (to host a potluck), and I don't have a drum (shameful, I know)

A downside to my crazy alternative lifestyle comes as a lack of worthwhile friends with whom I have a lot in common (especially girls). I feel like I just don't know where to go to meet people. Most 'normal' people would be repulsed by my lifestyle, and frankly I have no interest being around them. I play lots of soccer, but those guys (and they are all guys) are just people with whom I play soccer - we don't have enough in common to actually hang out. Music festivals are awesome for networking (and girls there are amazing), but I feel like the huge majority of those people completely disappear outside of festies, and I can't go to them frequently enough. I used to hang out with a lot of ravers, but they're a class of their own, and not really what I'm looking for. I made a bunch of good friends on a conservation internship, but now we're spread all over the country and we never see each other. It's not like I can just post-up at Whole Foods and advertise. How do I meet more good people in the real world? Where do you all hang out/meet people? I feel like I'm missing something here...

PS I'm not like antisocial or anything. I have friends, I just want more! And I want to know cool girls!

I was actually curious about this as well. I didn't really understand separating for a while, and by the time I figure it out, it was too late for my oldest dread. In any case, it's now substantially larger than all the other ones, and I was wondering if it could be split with like a razor blade or something.

Tea Tree Oil Issue - I know I'm not alone!

Dread Maintenance

I don't know Natalie, but that seems like a lot more than you need. You could always use water and count how many drops it takes to fill a half teaspoon. I would imagine the difference between the size of a drop of water and a drop of essential oil is negligible, especially at such low quantities.
